Really interesting content as always, thank you. The AP's bracelet is my all time favorite and I would spend as much time looking at it as I would the dial.
Thanks Dylan. As luck would have it, I picked up a 5205 just yesterday. First discovered this watch in one of your videos (your top 5 PP). I prefer the Royal Oak to the Nautilus, but after that Patek has the edge. Far greater variety in the models and truly timeless pieces.
F.H. Bananarama's own words: "At the time, he was looking after Audemars Piguet as a French distributor. He asked me if I’d come and run the company in France. I said “But, I don’t know anything about watches”, yet he was convinced. He said “No, I think you’ll do good”. So that’s how I started." It seems the company is good hands...
I have the Royal Oak 15400 so I’m going to be biased towards AP. Pateks big weakness is that half of their output is ladies quartz watches. This approach tells me that their primary focus is putting out products with a big margin. Also, this practice endorses a technology that practically destroyed the Swiss watch industry.
And the winner is....vacheron Constantine. Watch maker for over 250 years. The Overseas Gen 3 is a superior watch in every way. Plus their complications are just on another level. Including pocket watches, perpetual calendars etc.... But make no mistake Patek Philippe deserves its place in the holy trinity. They are more than just a one hit wonder and they are high class horology. To the common folk, Patek is #1 and there are good reasons for it
I suppose making a blanket statement re Patek vs AP on the whole, is futile, as i think their strengths lie in different areas...Even comparing Royal Oak to the Nautilus can have dual outcomes... Quite Simple... If you are talking 15202 vs 5711... 15202 wins out in terms pedigree, design, significance of its movement etc... 15202 was Genta's Magnum Opus... the 5711a has taken the baton change over from Offshores and ROCs for the Instagram #yolo crowd... If you start including 15400 etc... ie pieces Genta would have rather ate his own excrement over, than endorsing... then the Nautilus wins... As a brand at large.... yes Patek wins... Im also not sure its fair to say Patek on a whole is suitable for older people - a 5968 is definitely for young folk... and a 15202, on the contrary could be adorned by older more discerning folk... it is the thinking mans sports watch of sorts. I think most discerning collectors appreciate and collect choice pieces from each brand.
Both have their faults. AP is a “one hit wonder” (Royal Oak) and not much else. Patek is overpriced and eclipsed by several other brands (e.g., Lange, Vacheron) in terms of finish.

Unpopular opinion: love AP more. Fun experimental watches. I would love to own a concept one day.
What about Patek v Vacheron. Longer history with equal finishes.
Wait.. why AP? They only have ONE design!!!!
We would like a video about RM. Would love to hear your opinion 😉
Patek is more prestigious, but the Nautilus is an off-brand Royal Oak.
So true :/
Phirst - I'd probably buy AP simply because I enjoy their head honcho Francois-Henry Bennahmias so much!
Rooted rotor

lol this didn't age well. so many anecdotes of Bennahmias being an ahole and unbearable.

Interesting I didn’t know this. I’m in the market for a serious watch and I’d never consider a quartz watch as a contender, irrespective of the brand
The problem with Ap is that They are looking like a Richard Mille so they need to be careful because when you put too much in a watch you fuck it up.
Good video audemart pigue patex phillipe vacheron constantin same quality Best watch 3 Watch
AP Black Panther and Spiderman ended the debate on which is better: Patek Philippe wins, they have more class
now comes the next vid...
Patek Philippe vs Audemars Piguet vs A. Lange & Soehne

The Patek in the intro has a misaligned date wheel.

🙏
Not a fair fight - class against travesty..
I have £3.50 in my account I don't know why I'm watching this video
What amount is in your bank account three years later 😅 hope the situation have changed and you are now wearing a Patek or an AP 😉
