For drying of wet shoes, may I suggest that you pick up a couple of smooth rocks near the river bank or something, heat them up in your fire and place it beside and near your shoes. The residual heat will help the water evaporate faster and you won’t have to worry about your shoes getting burnt!
This may not work for shoes but at Philmont we would put our wet socks in and my friend put her wet shirt and pants in her sleeping bag overnight with her and they were mostly dry by the morning (it rained A LOT because it was monsoon season and outside the sleeping bags were covered in dew when we woke up)
I thought the same thing! I was like who just blessed me with this beautiful creature. I thought it was a wolf at first and I was like OMG watch out! Then I was like LOL no its just a snuggle pup that's real cute :)
I'm right there with you, but I was just saying that it's not impossible to feel how wet something is with gloves on, which is what a lot of other people are implying. :)
I'm pretty sure the bottom would burn before the top is cooked. If you enclosed it, elevated it, and turned it every few minutes you could probably cook one. Or better yet, just don't take cinnamon rolls to eat when going camping. ;-)
Just bake it like people on the frontier did. Get a campfire rock with a flat surface. Build a fire next to it. Let the rock heat up slowly and for embers to be created in the fire. Get a pot, preferably cast iron, but other ones might work given that it isn't a thin cheap pot or has plastic on it. Put the cinnamon roll dough on the rock. Put the pot upside down over it. Cover the pot with the coals from the fire and put them around it. Let it bake for awhile. There you go. You could also buy a cast iron dutch oven. You put the dutch oven next to the fire and put the cinnamon rolls in it. You put the lid on and cover it with coals from the fire. You need the lid hook tool or a stick to lift the lid later.
I have an idea for cooked cinnamon rolls while camping. Now this is just a random idea okay so here me out, but... try cooking them before you go camping.
For the makeshift plate one I think there is a lot better method in Japan when we have a natural disaster we just put plastic wrap over a plate then once the wrap is dirty you can throw it out and your plate is clean
Like banana trees are even that common in the UK. It might be getting hotter in the summer now, but we're still nowhere near being considered a tropical island.
Zan'Keiki Zannanji because Californians think it will reduce pollution. Honestly I think it would be easier to just start making straws people can reuse by washing them.
Depends on the fuel, if he means to colour the liquid and have it burn the same colour then he'll have to food dye the fuel the same colour that it burns.
Head lamps are great for helping you see what you need to, but they're also perfect for momentarily blinding who ever you look at. The gallon as a diffuser is an effective way to softly light a general area without everyone else seeing spots.
The point of that hack was to make multiple containers when there aren't enough. If there are more than two people in the group, this is a great way to make several makeshift plates/bowls so that everyone can sit comfortably and eat by themselves. It makes sharing food easier.
:31 pinch the melted part with the same pliers after it's melted to crimp it shut as it cools. If you pack more in the straw than you need, the same technique can be used to seal it again.
So for the water bottle lantern, if you use a small water bottle filled with a water/bleach mix it will produce far more light. And with the orange candle, you probably had too much oil in there soaking up heat, try filling it to about half way up the stem and wait a few minutes for the capillary action to take place
@@TyQuinn well the idea is that its something you do before you go out, and as long as you keep the bottle closed and clearly labeled its not going to be a danger to anyone
