You can prune them , dug them up and plant them in another planter. Add some fresh compost and slow release fertiliser and give it a good drink. My pansies and violas from last year are still going because I continue to prune them . I am in the uk where the weather is not too great.

Wow, that sounds great. Violas are a perennial in my zone 7b.
I planted them this year some came up but I think the bird got to them
