The best of durians are those that is named "Musang king" or Mountain cat which is sweet and creamy, there's one that is named black gold or black thorn, the mature version of the musang king, it's almost alcoholic if you consume too much. There's red prawn durian which is bittersweet for those who is not a fan of sweetness. Dont go for the 3 for $20 kinda durian. A good one will set you back for $25 per kg. My take is always look out for the most yellow and creamiest durian. Ask the durian uncle for it. You wont regret it. Put some hair on your chest and go try it. You are welcome
My aunt bought me a Durian when I was on vaca in the Philippines. My aunt thought it smelled so bad and didn't like it, but I thought it tasted like a creamy custard with some funk. The more you keep eating it, the better it tastes! I absolutely love it! It makes you smell though... your burp, fart, breath, will reek of Durian 😂

Its a complex fruit. It slowly reveals its secret more and more as you get to know it. A metaphor i use is temperate weather fruits are like chewing gum . Sweet and simple. Eating a durian is like having sex. The first time isnt groundbreaking and earth shattering. But the more yoi experience it, it slowly grows on you. Until you cannot say no anymore. And eating durian is a complex processing, it starts sweet, sulphur, then custard rexture on your tongue then you taste onions, garlic sweet and savoury. It coats your mouth throar and you breathe out durian breath.
