Well played. Salute.
this Asiankid6323 gets it.
I had the honor of qualifying for competing with an international squad in 1988. We spent 6 weeks in Japan competing with the top team in several prefectures and we were coached by the legend Masaki Hatta. I was so impressed with their love of wrestling, their discipline and intensity. Great people and a great experience. I got to wrestle their national runner-up and thoroughly got cleaned up 14-6.
@@MtuckerGoBlue that’s epic
14-6 is pretty good for national runner up!
@@GoIr1sh I'm just stubborn.
watched one video of Khabib talking about Japanese wrestling and now this is being recommended to me

shouldve seen their past olympic performance. they surpassed everyone’s expectations lol
Didn't know I was going to watch a restling vlog but it was dope af. I did karate a lot and now kickboxing / muay thai and I'm always shocked at how strong people who do restling look. Also the dicipline to wake up at 5 and to do this is insane to me. keep it up man
The thing I've noticed in every really good wrestling program is how there live rounds look. When I wrestled on my club team in college, we did a couple of minutes of live rounds at the end of practice and it was always muscling through and going as hard as you can. Essentially, every live round was like throwing constant haymakers. In this video though, the live rounds are super flowy, technical, and look like the guys involved are working hard without destroying themselves. Along with that, it just looks like everyone is having a good time during live rounds, and I can't tell you how much I hated live rounds when I was in school. Definitely shows how technique and patience beats muscling through and hardheadedness.
Content has came so far its crazy, only real ones remember what was here before the wrestling videos.

This is so cool! Thanks for sharing!
I have been so curious to study about how Japan teaches some basic positions. They are top notch in fundamentals right now.
Japanese wrestling is so elite, it's awesome seeing them dominating 💪
Japan vs Russia. The rivalry we never asked for but needed. The descendants of samurai vs the mountain men of Dagestan, isn't that interesting?
both practice different ruleset though, these guys have no submission game if not little
@@420gamingWithGF Dagestan also practises freestyle wrestling loads of Olympic champions
@@420gamingWithGFin Dagestan the sports opportunities are unlimited, you're imagining their combat Sambo submissions, but do they make Olympic gold medalist free style wrestlers? Yes 👍
@@MrFrogmanYT Well yeah, basically grappling as overall I am just saying russia system still cannot be beat.
I've trained in Dagestan, but not japan. I'm curious about japan. I'd want to try
When we competed in the World Championships in Kazahkstan 2019 the Japan world team came in last place at the tournament..their coach ran an entire practice on the warmup mats the next day. Everyone knew the feeling being around them warming up while they ran a practice...Fast forward 5 years later and they're winning gold medals taking out some of the best teams. Kids will also wear JPN singlets at wrestling tournaments now too. Good for them for turning it around, I always tell my kids wrestling is a very long term sport and you've got to see it through.
my favourite wrestling vlog ever bro keep it up
loved making this one. japan culture and wrestling is epic.
I really regret not taking better advantage of wrestling training growing up. Now I’m 40 and in my first full year of Jiu Jitsu and I love the struggle and pain.
Japanese wrestlers are next level and have a really good reputation in the Olympics. I have immense respect for them.

Great vid champ, But it’s a bit disappointing that you went over the training sessions, especially the weightlifting training, so quickly. Personally, I would have liked to see a longer video with the full workouts. But aside from that, I really enjoyed this video love the content! 🏆👍

😀 nice Video!
Amazing I wish I have same opportunity as you guys training in a high level gym in the early mornin is amazing
I don't think people realize how elite Japanese wrestling is. They think judo took leg grabs out because Japan is scared of wrestlers when they're one of the best teams in history. The USA is the top country for Greco Roman btw, most Olympic medals by far

Did you leave any workouts out for the S&C segment? How many sets/ circuit time?? 👀 🙏🏽 great video man

Nice workout man, can you tell me how the morning session was structured ? Like 45 sec on / 15sec off on every exercise ? Thanks
Nice work Hayden!
I'm curious to know if you could possibly provide some insight on the average/general training program of an elite international Japanese wrestler.
As in how many times a week they usually train and how long sessions usually last for, & what each sessions typically consist of?
Also I really enjoy your content keep up the good work 👍🙏💪
I don't do wrestling, I do muay thai (just for self defense, i dont compete or anything), but this video was really good
A normal person would have broken their arms multiple times in the course of falling.. amazing what these athletes are able to achieve
So is the conditioning always circuits?
Keep up the niche content! Would love see what you do in-and-out of practice. How long will you be out there?
Wow, that is crazy to do 20 full match spars on top of everything else. No wonder they are tough kids.
Do you mean 20 three minute periods? Otherwise I am not sure the time adds up. 20 minute warm up + 15 minute free drill + 6 minute hand fight + 5 minute par terre flow + 120 minutes of live (assuming no break between periods and no time between matches) + 9 minutes conditioning = 2 hrs 55 minutes. I assume there were breaks between periods and matches though. If each match had 1 minute between periods and 2 minutes between matches than 20 matches would be 180 minutes which is the whole 3 hours.
If it really is no breaks just 120 minutes of straight live that is wild.
W video

Go to Dagestan, they are the best and have Ben for a while.
The dedication and skill level in the room is immaculate but the weight lifting forms were absolutely atrocious, can't be moving around that much doing curls and lifting but nobody seemed to care about proper lifting technique

I explained it in my previous video, but basically I had a connect thru my coach.
At what time do you usually sleep to be able to get up at 5 ?
Much respect to Japanese wrestling!
How many times a week did yall do that s&c
How long were the rounds?
Are you japenese brother ?

Be original lol
Your a sheep
In Japan what is seen as the hardest or truest form of wrestling? Folkstyle, freestyle, or Greco Roman? In America we consider folkstyle the most legitimate form of wrestling because it includes more top bottom. Then we would say if you’re good enough for international you transition to freestyle. Greco Roman is almost looked down upon here as like a B tier type of wrestling. Possible that’s why judo never took off like jiu jitsu did in America.
Nothing turns you into a beast like wrestling. My aunt was an ancheta, any chance you filipino? Haha
Pinoy yan
I have seen it a lot in school manga come to think of it, but only now did it really occur to me that amateur sports in Japan is similar to the American system not the European, where from high school to college the popular sports are typically offered by schools rather than clubs. Japanese and Americans are pretty much into the exact same sports too, with football being a huge exception. I wonder if this means that, for all the extreme general shock that Japanese culture provides, there's virtually no sports culture shock and certainly less than Europe. Is this generally true besides what you mentioned? And is the entire sports pipeline, like up to the national team, otherwise similar to ours? (I was a top 10 program D1 athlete who attended national camp in college but got injured after that so I am familiar.)
That was indeed a lot of practice time! As you know when you are in college in the States even on the nonrevenue side (and even for me in the pre NIL age!) your sport does indeed envelop your life so you feel like an athlete full time as you walk about your day, even as you efficiently focus on other areas you still feel like an athlete doing them. But this is a bit much! Japan, at least traditionally, used to have a sports and work culture that's very heirarchical and obedient and places a lot of emphasis on work ethic. Often to the point where we would think they are not "working smart" or optimally in practical terms. Like at least into the 1990s, baseball coaches used to have a drill where players fielded balls until they dropped from exhaustion! That extreme isn't there now but you see the cultural impulses they have over there. Did you see these differences and ever wonder if that way was optimal? I know you said you like the long warmup.
Are there any Japanese champion wrestlers a?
cool insights! i subbed you now, keep up the good content
Can outsider join their training?
Cool beans 🤟🏾✌🏾
Wish you well brother in ur future endeavors homie 🙏🏾
What time you do 1round in this practice
Do they train two times in a day?
It’s hard to find the wrestling dojo in japan 😢 if anyone has any infos pls lemme know
How long did it take you to speak in japanese?
I though the good results of Japan in wrestling were due to the relevance of judo in the country BUT i feel they are completly separated comunities/groups of people.
Great video!
Small world lol you’re training with my training Partners from the uk
LETS WRESTLE! LETS WRESTLE!! 😡😡
Was it hard live rounds everyday or just 3 times a week? I dont see it being sustainable long term doing 20 live rounds at match pace every single day but maybe im just a pussy.
What wrestling shoes do you use?
