It was between this kit and 'jugs over Italy' P47 by Eduard. This kit lost, and i'm regretting it already. And now im going watch and weep.Have you seen Rochm Models website.Brilliant attention to detail.Twice as good as Voyager, same price, and now they are starting aircraft sets.
This can be the BEST building video. All steps were well thought and convey in a very straight forward without any talking whatsoever. I think all should emulate this video! Bravo!!
The engineering of the main landing gear to achieve the correct angle is long overdue. One of the many little things that set Tamiya apart from the rest. And as always, beautiful results.
When I was a kid these kits came with historical accuracy on the rudder. I do not condone the regime but I feel the aircraft do not look right without that marking. PC gone mad. Thanks for the video, lovely to watch your work.
Acknowledging history is conflated with agreeing with or condoning it in the present world. Banning symbols or writings does not alter what happened. If the swastika is banned, the hammer and sickle of communist Russia should be as well. Far more people killed by Stalin than that knucklehead with the F'd up mustache.....Anyway, despite the Orwellian world we find ourselves in; the model looks great. Thanks for an informative video!
Well that was a wonderful build, the time and care you took for a 1:72 was generous indeed! I know modellers who would treat such a model as an “……oh it will be OK….” as they will never display it anyway. I was dismissive off the size on my return however watching folk such as you build a 1:72 the intricate nature of the build has drawn me in. Anyway I am becoming convinced that ratios mean little to this industry. I don’t understand ratios so I may be wrong but I cannot accept that two aircraft in essence the same dimensions ens up on my worktop as totally different sizes yet are boxed 1:72!! And then SC-FI how can the model we make be a ratio of a craft that never existed??? I am confused. I wish Tamiya would ‘slip’ me some freebie tools! How many views did you need to have before they made contact? It’s OK no need to answer that. Great video, I did both “Like and Subscribe “ as requested and I shall watch you again. Bob England PS: how did your kit have Swastikas in it? Not in the EU I thought it said?! I think the kit needs them, not to honour the Nazi’s in anyway but it’s history and Germany nor the EU should attention alter the past.
Building this now. What a lovely kit, stunning detail and quite literally best fit I've ever seen. Main construction is complete and my files and putty have stayed unused. The only aftermarket you need is canopy masks, but only if you're lazy, maybe some seat belts though a decal is provided. I thought I'd built nice kits before but this is close to perfection, very recommended.
I agree, I hate "over-weathered" models (except maybe armor, which I don't do), but contest judges love them, even demand them for awards. They should remember two important things. Ground crews had a lot of time to keep these planes neat and clean, and some pilots would demand it, or it would be their asses! And also they had a short "shelf-life" during wartime, the aircraft and the pilots who flew them measuring their lives in weeks or months, not years, for the average case!!
Hi Dusan, a wonderful Tamiya Kit and absolutely beautiful build. I have built two of this Tamiya 109 kit (one of them Hartman’s G6) but in 1/48 scale. They are truly magnificent engineering aren’t they! I just wish Tamiya would add the fine riveting and beautiful surface details that Eduard add to their kits. I don’t understand why Tamiya choose to leave out the beautiful surface details that Eduard include. In my opinion the riveting detail adds soooo much character to plane models, I don’t care what people say about scale effect etc. the detail is beautiful and I think this is an area that Tamiya could improve on. They certainly have the capability to do it!
Great detail for 1/72, 1 piece tires{finally}, and decent decals. Beautiful job Dusan, another little gem. Just the right amount of weathering, and the decals laid down nicely for you. Happy Easter to you also!
I have this model but a different brand in my stash I really want to build it now after seeing this video plus amazing work on such a small scale model looks great!
Revell can be a bit disappointing but man the Zvezda SU-30SM 1/72 kit I'm building is seriously good kit, fits well together, I'm very impressed. Get the Russian Zvezda kits not the Italeri kits re boxed by Zvezda. Just got back into modelling after about 15 years and never really had kit that fits so well together
They are far from best.Look at Riich models 1\35 universal carrier £30 ,and Tamiya's.There range is there forte. But Dragon,Ryefield, and Zoukei mura are better engineered if more challenging.
Never heard of Ritch and have have read reviews on Dragon and Zoukei Moura which are critical of their fit. You mention more challenging as well Tamiyas latest newsmotorcycle models have perfect fit as do their aircraft models. I stand by my comments. Thanks for your comments.
Ive built about 20 Dragon model's nearly all armour, usually the more complex kits.Instructions are an issue, but fit, never.ZM tolerances in 1\48 are a pain, like WnWs,but in 1\32 are fine.I detail intensely, and use 'citadel air which is very thin.I usually use graphite from soft pencil's over matt black for engines, instead of metal paint, keep's tolerance low.Nigel did review RIICH universal carrier.Ive also built Tamiya,or did.If i built motorcycles Tamiya would be my go to.They even show you how to scratchbuild certain parts. The aircraft are good, but need PE upgrades for 'detailing' to the level i want.I have a lot of time,so building is my main focus, and lack of space limits painting time.So im not knocking Tamiya, just not saying that there as fantastic as some people claim.Since i was 11 ive forgotten how many Tamiya kits ive built. But when i returned to modelling i built 1\35 Cromwell and a Jagdpanzer L70,next kit was Dragon and never looked back. But im easily got by Metal barrel's and bits of wire and Photo etch.Just used cellophane as glass in Eduard 1\48 instument panel, looks just like glass.Good luck with the plastic.
@@darronhedges5873 I have only built 3 tanks. All from Tamiya and found that adding photo etch did nothing to enhance their models. To me, their moulded detail is quite superb as is their fit. I have read some criticism from rivet counters on accuracy in some areas, but to me it is irrelevant and of no bother. The first one I built was their T34/76. Added Eduard photo etch and metal barrel. Decided the effort was not worth it. Did do metal tracks on this one and they are a definite and noticeable improvement over the kit tracks. You get realistic sag in the top run of the tracks. The other two kits were the Abrams M1A2 and the desertised Challenger 2. The M1 has a metal and resin barrel but again I feel the kit barrel looks every bit as good if assembled and painted properly . Started metal tracking the M1 but gave up because one does not see the top run of the tracks . Same comments apply to the Challenger but that one is OTB. Have not built any Dragon models. Just a further comment. I built Tamiya's 1/32 Spitfire Mk IXc a couple of years ago and that model is quite simply the best model I have ever built. I felt super detailing it was quite unnecessary the detail is so good. I build anything that takes my fancy and I suppose Tamiya's product range covers most of my needs, so, yes I am biased towards them. Anyway thanks for the comments and maybe I will have a go at one of Dragon's armour products. I fancy the Tiger or Panther...

Tamiya seems to be out doing themselves with each new kit they release. If they're trying to match or surpass other kit manufacturers, they're doing pretty good so far! Excellent video. I'm trying to get back into the hobby after being away for quite a while, your video helped me make that decision!👍 Happy Easter!🐰
Is it just me or does anyone else think this guys builds a lot like Plasmo? Both are masters and things just flow for them. Both masters of the airbrush.
Yes and no, depending of the frames visibility. For some kits I am using that method and for some I cut thin stripes of masking tape (0,5mm) and cover the clear parts for each window/hatch... all the best! Dusan
DISCLAIMER: "I am not being paid to promote this kit, paints, tools and to make this video! Thanks!" Well, Tamiya should help you out for making their stuff look good and if they did, that would be Ok with me. Another job well done. Cheers mate.
Riff not being paid but Tamiya provided everything. Regardless I’m jealous. Tamiya makes incredible kits and their paints, tools and pretty much everything else is spot on. They could spoil me anytime, I already pretty much own every tool, paint and aid they have but please feel free to ship some my way. 😉
Hallo Dusan, yes happy Easter too, youre ME 109 looks very fine, as always, even i am more in 1/48 scale, but i am here to praise your work not the scale. Cheers from Germany

Wonderful work - your videos really help me expand my skills. Have you considered building the 1/48 scale F-111C from Academy? It's one of the best kits I've ever done
Thank you!! I have Hasegawa kit in 72nd scale. Haven’t looked into Academy (also Italeri-rebox) Will consider, F-111 is a beautiful bird. All the best! Dusan
Very nice work. I like the interior details. I'm currently building a 1/72 Tamiya FW190 D9, a beautiful little kit as well. What did you use for the antenna wire?
The flat glass with raised edge. Very fine sandpaper, very flat surface, light sand then paint a flat surface and rub the panel on painted surface. Doesnt work well with curved canopy although*** I used to apply glue to long straight edges same way. Paint glue on flat surface then run the edge flat towards the glue. very thin, even line applied to edge. Same with pin stripe edge. ***this works with canopy edge, the flat part of cylindrical canopy. Often the back edge. Hold canopy edge to flat surface and use as squeege on thin paint line on surface to transfer. Quick alternative to masking and airbrush and very perfect line applied.
I wish you all to have a Happy Easter! Take care and all the best!!! Dusan.

Do you speak german, if yes warum machen sie kein Model auf Deutsch? But nice model!
Please show us the final assembly as well i.e. the canopy, the wheels, etc.
Ditto!

Hats off to Tamiya for SUNK PANEL LINES on every model!!!
The engineering of the main landing gear to achieve the correct angle is long overdue. One of the many little things that set Tamiya apart from the rest.

Brought back memories of hours at a dining room table, getting glue stuck to everything including the model eventually. Well done!

Yes, history is history, the past is the past, and can't be changed, by anyone,.... for any reason!
Thank you!! There is swastika but it’s just blurred on the pictures for regional availability of the video due to the law in DE. All the best! Dusan.

Merry Christmas! What an artist you are to be able to air brush that camo free hand on a 1/72 scale model! Fantastic!
I really like the freehand camo without masking. Nice control with the airbrush. Thanks for posting.
I'm about to get this get. My first tamiya 1/72 airplane. Love the kits they fit so well.

I like the absence of rivets on Tamiya kits. If I want them I grab an Eduard Kit, but loosing rivets when sanding some areas make me loose my mind !
Wow..... My absolute favourite aircraft from WW2, you have amazing skill.
Really nice build! Thanks for sharing. You have got a very steady pair of hands!

hello congratulations for your work ... I wanted to know where I can buy the seat belt kit in 1/72 and 1/48 scale for WWII model aircraft. ? Thank you
You should try the new one that was released a little over a year ago. It is a very nice kit.
Great build
Please tell us what putty did you use for this build?! lol
Great model, great build, great video. Thank you.
Una pregunta con que material pegas las piezas a los paliyos de madera con plastilina ????
Great video. What camera do you use for shooting video?

good but why no pre-shading?
