This was the last ride me and my mother went on before she passed away. It holds a very special place in my heart :')
Sorry for your loss :(
Aww that’s so sad, I couldn’t imagine living without my mum. Sorry for your loss ❤
Aww 🥺 Sorry for your loss! May your mom rest in peace 💕
Ohh man. So sorry for your loss 🙏🏼
Beautiful memory! God bless
as someone who HATES heights and drops, i didnt realize it was a whole 80 foot drop so i honestly feel proud of myself for going on it
It is 85 foot i never have been on it i cant go there :(
Yeah I went on it when I was 7, my dad said “I didn’t know it was a big drop”
He literally had to hold me down so I wouldn’t fall out 😂
@@starysap if you had the chance would you go on it again ?
@@batbat4043 I was actually at universal today… I really wanted to go on but I couldn’t bc the wait time was too long 😭
@@starysap i know its kinda sad ! In belgium there log flume ride called dino splash!
I swear this ride feels calming at first and then there’s the drop at the end
I’m pretty sure that’s the point
The slow climb up into the building builds a lot of tension too.
my heart skipped a beat at the drop bc it felt like years but not that long now but i sadly got soaked
Yea I thought it's just a boat ride. That drop was insane
LOL
I'm so glad they haven't updated this to Jurassic World. Theres something not only charming about not shoving the newest version of the IP into the ride, but also even more ominous about the raptor/T-Rex scene without all the extra flair
It could use an update. I went in May and the animatronics were in terrible shape
@@shadowknight9145 I mean I'd be cool with a major refurb. I just don't want it to change to the Jurassic World IP
Won't be long before they do I think, as unfortunate as it is. So much of the ride is blatantly 90s era still like intro/safety screens, and the theming/animatronics. It's out of place if you ride velicoaster first, but then most of the old school Jurassic park area feels the same.
Fantastic ride and it's a shame. Feels like a 90s time capsule and I love it.
@@lewisjones1182 The opening gets me *every* time. The classic "welcome... to Jurassic Park" narration followed by the swell of the original theme song will never get old
@@ProfessorStuDDS true! Makes me shivers and bring tears to my eyes
the first time I went on it I didn’t know there was a drop😭 it said it was a relaxing ride😭
I’m so sorry for the fate you endured. Also same
SAME it was extremely hot out that day so i figured the drop was similar to splash mountain’s drop at disney world. just wanted to cool off real quick, y’know?
lmao
@@stonedimmaculate2942 Is it a lot more intense than Splash Mountain? On a scale of 1 to 10, if Splash Mountain is a 3, what is this?
@@davidguthrie6316 i’d say a 5 or 6 out of 10 maybe even a tiny bit higher that drop rlly caught me off guard
I haven't been on this in like YEARS but i do remember it just like it was yesterday and gotta say, for those who have not been on this ride just be aware that the drop is a lot more fast and intense than it looks on video
Agreed the drop is more intense than most rollercoasters!
@@Gamer606YT lmfao be so fr
Heed this person's words. And DO NOT try to tuck your head to avoid having to look at it...trust me (nose wasn't broken but it felt like it)
also when ur in line u can see the drop and it looks a lot less steep then when ur on it
Sounds just like Atlanta at sea world yea that nothing until I did it and wow it was intense and high
Time, the ever-flowing river. Come with us now to a time before man when the river flowed through a new-born world and giants walked the earth. Welcome to Jurassic Park
I love this ride. When I went for senior trip, we sat front row. And the drop came but there was no T-Rex. It was just a black hole. Still really fun and it was great sitting front row
It was Because The Saurapods Stopped working
My wife tricked me to get on this thing. She told me it was a lazy river ride. When we started going up I knew I was in trouble. But I’m proud of myself I rode it again the next day. Trust me, I am a coward when it comes to these type of rides.
Literally same. I closed my eyes and screamed the whole way down. My wife and five year old were laughing at me
I’m not huge on drops but I just hold on super tight and it gets me through the drop
If my girlfriend ever dragged me on this ride, I would be fine till the drop. At that point I would just end up holding her hand as hard as I can, and have a deathgrip on whatever else I can grab. It dosnt look that high in the video, but still don't like it.
@@nova14414 lol it's much worse in person but I feel like it's the kind of ride everyone gets tricked into going on.
@@nova14414 It’s a 85 foot drop, much bigger when you’re actually there
I remember going on this, my dad made me think it was more of a tourist ride, but when I saw the drop, my heart immediately dropped.
I really hope this stays classic 🥹
I went on that ride today and that drop at the end got me so hard i was literally flying and screaming for my life!!!
The drop is really intense and fun (it reminds me of one of my favorite Cedar Point water rides) but...my favorite part of this ride is actually at the beginning where they play the intro to "Theme from Jurassic Park" and then time the crescendo perfectly to the gates. Ngl, I teared up. Anyway, we had a great time - my kids got a kick out of the animatronics (I didn't notice anything off about them) and loved getting soaked.
So Hollywood got Jurassic World and Orlando just refurbished the old ride. Cool they are keeping the old ride open in at least one park.
This was actually the first ride I went on at Islands of Adventure. My cousin had been on it before and warned me about the drop at the very end, but there's no preparing yourself for that drop. It comes out of NOWHERE. Definitely a lot of fun tho
My parents made me and my brother ride this when I was 12 and he was 8. Both of us were scared out of our minds. And then we got stuck right before the big drop, staring right at the giant dinosaur.
This ride is the reason for my fear of dinosaur animatronics.
this was amazing and one of my favorite rides. this drop might look fine but in real life it was crazy
That damn drop high as hell for a water ride lol i was shocked lol rode it today.
Cool I just rode it a few days ago!
I went like 2 weeks ago river adventure is just perfect
Idk why but every single time we are face to face with the TREX and see her face approach from the mist just gives me goosebumps everytime
That drop is no joke!
I learned that the hard way......
@@kingkong0073 same, I thought it was a calm/peaceful ride
SAME WITH ME 😱😱😱😱😂😅😅😀😀
@@MCUFAN-vy4rj I knew there was a drop but I thought it was a real small one until I went on it
I’m going in here in a month and I’m so excited! This ride is def on my bucket list 💗💗💗💗
Looks like they need a new Ultrasaurus. She's got a broken neck.
Omg so True lol
I went on this ride and as soon as we were going up I was like: Theres one way up and one way down 😅😥😭😂
😂😂😂😂😂
ONE OF THE BEST RIDES AT UNIVERSAL!
They should NEVER EVER EVER change this to Jurassic World!!!
However, it is in *DESPERATE* need for some kind of refurbishment. They don’t need to re-theme it, just renovate it, starting with the animatronics
Finally, a video where the velociraptors are visible! Their goofy crooked jaws, slightly visible at 5:05, were part of the fun for my brother and I upon this ride, but I could never find photo proof of them. At last, I have!
I remember when going on the ride.
And I crouched in my seat on the boat during the drop after the Tyrannosaurus.
And after the big splash, I didn’t even get wet from it.
Same thing, I had water on the side of my head because I was at the back right seat.
Wow, the mist over the river, the sounds, the light effects - would love to ride it. Better than that of L A.
my friends tricked me into thinking this was a calm river ride that tells you about the dinosaurs…
I accidentally tricked my dad into going on it because I said the drop didn't look that big. I was wrong.
The drop is so intense irl!
I remember when I went on it my lap bar wasn’t down far enough and I was hanging on for dear life on that drop😅
I did the same thing. That last drop gets me nervous
I like both JW and this ride!
I just went last week and this ride was closed!! But knowing there is a harsh drop, glad I didn't go. POV is fine for me!
It's actually not bad to be honest
Wow! This is exactly as I remember it in like 2003! So glad they didn't change it. A renovation would be nice though :)
i love you jursic park! 😢
I swear I thought the ride was gonna be cool and slow but THE FALL AT THE END WAS BIG AND I DIDNT EXPECT IT
I went on this ride today, and the huge drop surprised me. I had lots of fun though.
BELLISSIMO WELL DONE.👏🇮🇹👏👍
That was awesome
I got on this ride yesterday for the first time & It seemed like a really smooth ride until the HUGE DROP at the end. I didn’t realize it was an 85 foot drop!!
My 2nd time on this I don’t like drops but still manage to do this one it’s so fast great ride and on my favs at Universal Orlando IOA
The drop got me bad lol
Haha ok so I’m here watching this because some people are saying the drop on this is worse than the top hat drop on Velocicoaster 😂 I’m trying to see something 🧐🤣
@@JrsBoatRocker thats probably because the lapbars are not as tight as velocicoaster’s.
When I went on this. I was in the same row with three of the biggest people so the lap bar pretty much went up to my chest. I really had to hang on tight for the drop. It was pretty scary.
Where did u sit
@@JrsBoatRocker to not put it lightly it was scary af and felt never ending
i remember this this ride back when i went to orlando in 07 it's long overdue since i last went there
I went to universal about 2 weeks ago and this was on my wish list to go on; and of course it was closed.
I’m 37 and remember riding this when I was 15 and that stop TRAUMATIZED me🤣 I still remember it. But I also hate drops like that.
This ride is so fun! I went on it, and then I was like, "LET'S GO AGAIN!!!!" Then my friend and I got right back in line.
Your see that GIANT wave at the beginning? Well I was watching the raft come down and I got splashed with ALL of it!!! Also my step mom said it was a small drop at the end…well…I wasn’t expecting an 80FT DROP!!!!
This was one of my first water rides at the end I held on to my mom like I was about to die
Dude we didn’t know there was a drop and didn’t realize until we were going up like the last hill that this thing was no joke 💀 the picture is crazy
I’ve gone to islands of adventure so many times and every time this ride was closed, well finally it was open and I got to go on it and there was barely a line so that was nice
I’m quite disappointed at how different the ride is compared to when I was a kid! It was scary almost throughout the whole thing! Now it seems the drop is the scariest part unfortunately! I wish you all could have experienced the original!! It was intense in the best way!
Yes exactly! It looks so much brighter and the truck part used scared me so much.
I went today or was so fun
When u watch the drop on RUclips: Hmm that drop looks so small I can ride this! EASY. when ur at the drop in real life : this drop is gonna be so easy- AHHHHHH IM FLYING OUT OF MY SEAT HELP. Then u look up the actual drop feet then u realize that it’s 85 feet 😂
Yeeeeeeeeesss
Yeeahhhhhhhhh
Ooooook
Ookkkkk
Uh yes.
totally right!
I thought they refurbished this ride. It looks exactly like it did when I rode it a few years ago.
Probably thinking of the one in Hollywood
In other place it was called Jurassic world
They do “Refurbish” the ride but by that they mean like changing the skins on the animatronics.
I was told at 7 years old this only had a tiny drop… suffice to say, it didn’t:)
Suffice to say you may have seen your own turd come out of your pants during the drop.
ngl when i went on this i thought is was gonna be like splash mountain… i was wrong but im very proud of myself for going on it especially because i sat in the front row
I went on this ride before and I was holding onto something really tight when there was a drop
BRO I WENT ON THIS AND IM A RIDE PERSON AND THIS WAS SO FUN!!
I’m going on it and all other Jurassic world rides in 3 days!
It's not like video the last drop is strong but fun
I have been waiting for this ride an hour and then it has some technical problems and closed when I’m standing to get in the rides 😭😭😭 so saddd. I flew out from Thailand to thissss
I went on this today and I was so scared 😂😂
4:03 compys fighting over a piece of cloth lol
I went on this ride with my cousins and best friend, and nobody told me there was going to be a huge drop, I was too busy dodging all the dinosaurs that I didn’t even realize there was a HUGE drop I just screamed and hoped it would end, it felt amazing.
u feel so calm then u feel fear then after it’s over u started laughing wanting to go back on it (around night time cuz that’s when the lines are empty) and when u go on it a second time u feel so much fear and excitement bc u already know what’s gonna happen.
then u fall and want to go back on it, me and my cousin and best friend went on it so many times, we even challenged ourselves to look up instead of down, we even held hands and sat in the front, it’s such a adrenaline rush, i personally hate drops and although the drop is horrifying it’s also really fun, highly recommend this ride
Ending was slo motion that animatronic needs a refurb badly. Subwoofer was going insane in surround sound system great mic.
This was back when the big door opened and the animatronics actually worked.
3:34 did you guys notice the number 13 on gate 13? that was when i got scared on the ride, i was like WAIT A SECOND THIS ISN'T A *RELAXING* RIDE
then the eighty foot drop
explains it ALL
i was filming everything
then when it dropped
my phone almost flew out of my hands but my mom caught it
OH DAWG I ALMOST LOST MY PHONE!!!!!!!!!!
If someone is using this video as reference for the ride, the video does NOT do a justice to that drop at the end, it’s an 85 foot drop….the video makes it look like 40
Also not to mention depending on your height, you can actually have a lot of air time during the drop, especially if you're a small child. I was when I rode the ride, and lets say I thought I was going to fly out of my seat.
Rexy mouth has been broken for a while
@@elvingarcia3010 that's in Hollywood that's Orlando
they fixed the mouth, last time i went (2 weeks ago) it was working fine
@@DrCheeseBalls Yeah I was just there in like mid June it was working fine.
Idk if it’s just me, but the drop on this ride didn’t feel nearly as bad as splash mountain did. This one feels over faster even though it’s a bigger drop
I’ve never been on splash mountain but I’m not a huge roller coaster person. Overall it wasn’t too bad. I think mostly because you can’t truly tell how high you are since you’re still enclosed most of the way down. If it was all open up top that would be SCARY!
Oh lord..just watching this, I already know I’m never going on it. I can’t do heights and I normally hate drops.
Trust us on this. For somebody who has been on both River Adventure and Jurassic World, the drop is scarier than most rollercoasters. Imo, it's even scarier than a ride like the Hulk
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there a BRIDGE where the raft went under and then your could get wet if you were on it?? I swear they removed this!
This isn't quite how I remember it when I went all those years ago, I remember the jeep falling down the side of the wall. Is this a different ride? I thought it was closed down in Florida for some reason and only in Japan for the 'original Jurassic Park' ride..?
Sitting in the front row just slams water into your face after the T-Rex drop.
0:42 I seriously heard someone yell "My Leg!" at first
Spongebob squarepants fred?
@@dutchchann9317 bingo
bro the t rex at the end is so god dang loud and it goes so god damm fast like I have to force my eyes to not close
Great ride but they should probably update that brachiosaurus
If my parents took me here as a kid they would definitely tell me that the dinosaurs are real until I cry and then backpedal lol
your parents sound like funny people lmao
I just like going here because i miss this version in hollywood
THE DROP IS SO INTENSE!
Me and my son just went on it 😮
❤️👍
Last time I was on the ride there was only a singular dinosaur in the river. Everything else had been removed lol. I was very confused the entire ride!
Yeah me too, I had to look up a video to make sure I didn’t remember the ride incorrectly
I didn't ride this ride, how does it compare to Dudley Do-Right in Toon Lagoon which I did ride and was a blast
they need to make the safety bars tighter on this one I just went on last week and during the drop I fully stood up from the seat and leaned forward I was so scared I was gonna fall out😭
I hate drops. So I only agreed to go on this coaster because my dad said “water rides don’t have big drops.” I was mad at him afterward
How was it? i’m planning on going
I wes on this 3 days ago and trust me when the drop is near there are 2 dinosaurs above you look down at you moving around and when we went down the drop I couldn't scream or breathe at all and I couldn't move
Does anyone know if there is always maintenance in January and it is closed then? Thanks🦖
Now the best water ride in Orlando!!!! Hope this stays as Jurassic Park please Universal do not make the mistake Disney is doing and remake it as Jurassic World River Adventure in both coasts like Disney is doing with two Tianas Bayou’s Adventure!!! Keep both US unique the combination of Jurassic Park with river adventure and Jurassic World with the amazing Velocicoaster is so cool. Update Audio animatronics if need be but keep it as Jurassic World River Adventure!!! Don’t be like the mouse!!! Listen to the fans!!!!
The majority fans!!!!
This will now be the best water ride in Florida with best climatic drop of course because Tiana’s Bayou Adventure isn’t going to have a climatic drop no doc Faciler no Friends on the other side. We already know it’s gonna be a variation of dog a little deeper. A happy drop yay woohoo!!!! 🤮🤮🤮!!!!
Please don’t make Disney’s mistakes
RIP Splash Mountain.
You DO realize Universal is probably never going to see your comment, right?
“Rollback” DONT YOU DARE!😱😳
Have they stopped the t rex roaring at the end
I went on it today I didn’t hear it roaring
4:40 it was at that moment that we realized-
This rides great and all but did anyone realize its timings were like the movies?, It all starts calm and happy but then at the end it gets really dark and scary
Tha drop had me scared then a bih😂
That’s a drop about 5-6 stories
I am not a roller coaster person at all so the people I was on a trip with there were able to convince me it was just a gentle river boat ride. They lied.
I rode it with my mom and we got in the front row, it was fun but horrible at the same time, felt my bottom come out the seat😂
I rode it with my little nephew and he literally slid under the lap bar and wound up on the floor during the drop 😂
I went to universals for my field trip and me and my group went on this ride and when that drop came down I was like oh hell no not today I was screaming for dear life cause the t Rex was on the top and I was scared of it and it was over and I said let's do a another ride and I had a heart attack for 1 second
i felt like i was gonna fall off at the drop
