      Nope. I've played and taught guitar for over 20 years, and anybody that believes this is really fucking dumb.
      Here's some fun facts from reddit.
      Total bullshit!1600 BPM with sixteenth notes is 0.009375 seconds per note, or about 10ms. 10ms is barely enough time to register the attack of a guitar note much less a distinct frequency. I made some recordings of pure sine waves playing the first few measures at 180 BPM and 1600 BPM and you can see that even in the ideal case, the 1600 BPM is just one weird laser-like sound:180 BPM:picosong.com/QytU/1600 BPM:picosong.com/Qyti/

    • @blokesfireup
      @blokesfireup 8 лет назад +6

      I think he is referring to the fact you were unable to notice that he did not attempt to play the entire solo at 1600 bpm and thus your analysis of the time spent playing was completely moot.

    shredding is about the perfekt timing between both of your hands.
    When you say you play it at 1000 bpm, your left hand is doing around 240 strokes. you can hear them when you slow the video down.
    at 1600 you are just moving you right hand as fast up and down as you can, while hammering on the frets in a totaly different speed.
    you maximum is at around 255bpm with your right hand. period.
    And the bumblebee is not a reference for a record. I know it has been done, but do you realy think you are quite near as fast as michel angelo batio or yngwie malmsteen?
    You are not shredding, you just make "fast looking" movements while making wierd sounds
    And you left left hand is absolutly out of control. From 500 bmp on you are playing completly different things round after round.
    sometimes you end in 2. fret, sometimes in the 4. at 1600bpm you end no where, your hand is just sliding roughly in the right direktions... xDDD
    gtreatest lost of time in my life while watching guitar videos.

    Alright guys, hear me out. This is not fake. Before I explain why, allow me to explain how one should measure how skilled someone is in a motor skill.
    *How do you measure skill in a motor skill*
    If you were to slow the footage of 1000 BPM down to 170 BPM, the movements made with the strumming hand is obviously less distinct from one another; this decrease increases as the speed goes up. The curve this forms are similar across all people across all motor skills, meaning that you can see how skilled someone is at any BPM, rather than by trying to measure what the fastest BPM is at which someone can "play" a song. This is because the former metric is well-defined and has plenty of material for comparison while the latter is unclear since whether or not you have "played" the song well enough is arbitrary.
    Then the question now remains:
    *Was the skill of this guitarist realistic?*
    The motor skills of this guitar player does not exceed the motor skills of other guitarists, pianists, violinists or high-APM professional gamers (SC I, SC II Zerg, many speedrunning games, osu!Taiko, stepmania).
    Some objections people brought up:
    *The guitarist was rocking his head too fast*
    Not at all. Speed up the footage of 170 BPM and look at the head movements. Completely out of tune with what we see at 1000 or "1600" BPM.
    *The 1600 BPM section lasted too short*
    Not the entire piece was played; clearly the guitarist could not handle this pace, even more so than the previous paces.
    Also note that you can stop spamming "Fake" in the comment section; if you have nothing substantial to add, you might as well up-vote a comment that DID add something substantial with which you agree. This applies not just here, but everywhere.
    Note however that I have argued that this video is real, not that it is a substantial world record or a demonstration that this guitarist is better than other guitarists. All these "speed guitarist" records have either undefined or seemingly arbitrary standards for when something is still played well enough and hence where you cut off the highest BPM you can still "play" is close to meaningless. You can watch the footage at the normal BPM and derive much easier how skilled the guitarist is.
    If you still think this is fake, feel free to inform me with why you think so.

      @totalmetaljacket789 8 лет назад +3

      Well, the record website he claims his certificate is from has the fastest guitar player of this very song at 810 bpm...
      Guinness also stopped recognizing world records for this feat given the difficulty of recognition, so no official body has recognized this dude as a record holder.

    • @ralphschraven339
      @ralphschraven339 8 лет назад

      Sonic Broom Surely there are more reasons to doubt this record than projecting low self-esteem alone. Sketchy rules, sketchy guitarist and sketchy guitar skills come to mind.
      Also, surely if one is capable of manufacturing a record that is supported by an entire video of supposedly edited footage, one would not have much difficulty either in simply manufacturing the statistics of a similar record with no videographic evidence to accompany it. Therefore saying one more record exists is hardly any evidence for the original one being real.

    • @ralphschraven339
      @ralphschraven339 8 лет назад

      Sonic Broom I never said such a thing. I simply argued the link to a similar record is unconvincing when posed as evidence to support the claim that this record is real. I myself elaborately explained in my original comment why I do think this footage is real, while also not giving it any more credit it deserves.

I have no idea why these videos are posted.

    2 things to notice
    Firstly at 1600 bpm, notes don't make any sense at all. If u slow it down to 0.25 speed then u still can't figure out wtf he is actually playing
    Secondly it is nearly impossible to play anything over 400 bpm. There was a 999 bpm guy and he confessed that he faked. I am not saying that 1600 bpm is impossible. But the fact is that song doesn't make any sense at all. If u can't understand the song even a little bit then it raises many questions and doubts.

      1. The blatant use of somebody walking behind the scene, which is far too generic and showing no emotion related to what's actually being done in the foreground.
      2. The graphical quality of the background person and foreground person when their bodies interact on screen, it is too sharp.
      3. The bodily movements of the guitar player are not realistic as he gets faster. His head, especially, should not be jerking around so much.
      4. Realism might be added if there was more interaction with the guitar player, instead of just showing a guitar player in the foreground, with a completely separate background playing.
      This is very unrealistic. Digitally speeding up any sound is extremely simple these days.

      No, the same exact edited video, with a precursor of people talking about proving it, & a post video, talking about how it wasn't fake, doesn't help at all.
      There are very simple ways to make the video realistic, or at least much harder to look edited.
      I personally could create a video exactly like this to look "this (un) realistic" , thanks to the technologies available to us alk today.
      I am also not going to waste my time dictating to you how you could make it realistic, because there are a hundred ways you can do it very easily, including movement of the camera, among other things. The only thing I will say in your favor is, if it is realistic, then you need to have somebody film it much better, to prove the point. I have absolutely no faith that this is real.

    this is not record, the distortion can make it seem like he's playing more notes. if it were up to me, It would be raw input.

    Shawn lane still holds the title as far as I’m concerned (not that that matters). Shawn would improv and pick all the right notes.

    Playing a thousand pointless notes a second is just an assault on the ears. if it is not played in a musical context. Django was as fast as any guitarist but he was a true musician who knew it was all about phrasing and timing. When to hold back and when to let loose and play a coherent musical statement which held the listeners attention. You could programe a robot to machine gun empty notes. But not to play music

    These are not 106.6 Notes per second im sry .... 300 BPM is 20 notes per second and everythin above until 25 is nearly impossible. Everything above is Physilogical and Physical impossible.... Thanks for reading.

  • @harrisfrankou2368

    that's 106.666666667 notes per second... there are so he is playing ten notes every every so he is playing approx one note every 10 milliseconds ..only the best engineers can here an echo under 30 milliseconds...yet he is playing 3 ...BS

    I mean, it's fucking physically impossible to pick every note in that tempo, so of course it's bullshit. The question is, "why?" how did someone's passion for playing a musical instrument turn in to "I want to be the fastest plucker in the world".lol should of invested his time in actually composing music that he and other people can enjoy.

      +Arak Drakoniz .... Are you saying that because the clock is on that side? Anyway, what the guy in back SHOULD be doing is bouncing a ball or playing with a yoyo, or some other item which depends on gravity. .... It IS possible for someone to move very very slowly, and when sped up to appear normal (this was done ALL the time in the old silent movies before 1929 or so) You could not bounce a ball, alter the speed, and have it be normal... Btw, the metronome readout should be facing the camera too (better yet, use a mechanical pendulum metronome since its movement depends on gravity)
