  • In the 2022/23 season, Finnish composer and conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen is the Berliner Philharmoniker's Composer in Residence.     i wonder what he meant when he said we'd be surprized to hear that he likes Strauss...

      Because for many people I imagine Strauss is might sound like classical pop

      In the elite (pretentious), high-culture, classical music circles he works in, Strauss is looked down upon by quite a few people.
