I remember as a kid I went on laughing gas, and all I could see were flashing colors like when you rub your eyes too hard, the one tile light and the articulating light on the arm, and I felt staticky and like I was floating and spinning into the air while I felt the wind and cold water of the dentist drill and other tools in my mouth. All in all, 10/10 experience and I would love to hop on laughing gas again 😂

I remember as a kid about 5 years old, I had nitrous along with sevo or one of the other gasses for general induction. When things started feeling weird, I tried to get off the table and run but was too high to do so, so I just sat there saying no, as they were trying to calm me down. Now as an adult whenever I get surgery, I always ask for the gas and they never want to give it to me. I guess they know what I'm up to 😅😅😅

Pro tip, every time you take a breath of nitrous at the dentist, hold your breath till you can and then repeat until you get your desired level of incapacitation. It works for me and everyone I know that have medical anxiety atleast 5 times better when we hold breath vs just regular breathing. Take this info as you wish but I can confirm it will help you get a stronger effect if you need it bc the general effect from normal breathing is not working well enough. And we’ll I have to say this because I know there are people out there wanting to know this, this method of nitrous use is 100% the safest way to get high on nitrous bar none as the dental pros are trained in the use of nitrous and will know exactly what to do in the very very rare event that something goes wrong, don’t worry though that’s never happened to anyone me or I know and no one at both the dental offices I’ve been to so don’t worry bout that too much you should be just fine 99.9% of the time.
TL;DR When you are inhaling nitrous at the dentist, hold it in with every breath as long as possible to receive the best anxiety reducing effects.

I dont know why but my sleep deprived ass started getting really interested in nitrous for some reason, ive done it recreationally in the past but its been months and i have no urge to do so now. I just find it interesting how simple it is, 2 nitrogens bonded to an oxygen, it fascinates me how it can be so psycoactive while also being so simple chemically. To the point it is naturally produced by plants, its fucking insane that that out of all things binds to such receptors when things like ketamine, which are much more complicated work much the same

Then I had a third person view of me my dentist and my mother but we were only a pair of fists and I apparently tried to square up with the dentist so my mother's fists jumped onto my fists when in reality she had to hold my hands down lmao

I found it very entertaining and was giggling, I asked him what he was whistling and it was some midevil tune,I can't remember, but when he told me, I started laughing uncontrollably, I grabbed my thighs and I kept saying, "Get it together, get it together, Wesley!!" Over and over..

I felt like numb tingling all over my body, down to my thighs. My vision was black below the bridge of my nose. I felt disconnected so i would make an action or decision just fine but it felt like there was a film of fuzz between my mind and my body, so when I’d answer questions my mind would go “why did I do that ?, why was that so easy ?” Everything I thought was quick and in my brain
I was thinking things like “they must think I’m kind of out of it bc I’m on gas so maybe it’s fine if I look ugly” but then a nurse would come to speak to me and I’d go “ok so they see me as a person, damn”
“What if something goes wrong ?, they know what they’re doing. I should pay attention… wow that hadn’t been a serious thought since I was younger. Pay attention, hmm, oh the surgeon is so nice he keeps calling me dear he must know that I’m anxious, he’s so nice”
Just like an endless stream of fast thoughts, I often would go “did it really take this long until I remembered to take another breath… (feels heartbeat for a while) oh I gotta breath..l did it really take that long for me to do that ?, am I breathing slow ?”
For the most part though I would say the payment was worth it. I wasn’t nervous or fearful for like 95% of the time, I just did whatever the surgeon said without a second thought and didn’t flinch or cry at all at things that would normally make me extremely anxious. I genuinely didn’t even realise he had pulled out a tooth at one point. I just knew that I’d lose one when I’d either felt it fall on my chest or he said he’d taken it out.

No not at all I have terrible anxiety about needles at the doctor and they gave me it for my wisdom tooth surgery and I never felt better

I felt pretty anxious on the gas, not because of the dental procedure but instead because the high feeling scared me. My mind and body were disconnected- it wasn’t horrible though and it did help the procedure. Just remember that if you get scared it’ll pass and you’ll be back to normal soon
