Wondering what the purpose of the baking soda is... Apples are acidic and baking soda is an Alkaloid.
Being fall we'd hit some of them lightly with cinnamon!

@@TheWickerShireProject baking soda is a cleaning agent and draws out any bugs in the fruit before processing them. So I soak them in a water and baking soda bath before to give them a good clean. You can also use vinegar in replace of baking soda, but baking soda is what I had more of lol

I want a freeze dryer so badly. Our dehydrator was Cory's before we even met and it takes like 2 days to dehydrate anything 🫠

@@HaggardMountain a freeze dryer would be fantastic! But that’s a hefty investment that will have to wait for another day lol… I will admit, the dehydrator does take a while to get the job done, I try to time it so that it’s running at night and then it’s done in the morning… some things take longer though 🤷‍♀️ humidity in the house needs to be taken into account
