This isn't right. Trees should have rights too. We planted them in a place that they didn't choose. We should have to move our sidewalks around the trees, not cut them down. If after everything the city leaves the stumps... the roots still grow. Pointless.

I hope they plant the new ones fast

When they remove trees, it’s not that they really remove trees. They always leave a stump. They never do a thorough thorough as much as they can removal of a tree. Not only does it diminish the bird population other critters that contribute to the environment and and local ecology, but also when the summer comes, those trees created a cooler Street level urban heat index. Removing trees will make the area hotter in the coming summer.

Yeah Southern California is well known for doing everything it can to save its trees that's why it was 130 degrees in Southern California last year, and I would add the joke in the shade but as seen on the news here there is no shade

1:34 old-ass lady not even going to be around for the time the trees are not there.. so why is she trying to remove something as old as her ..
also, I didn't know cutting the trees down will automatically clean and clear the roots out....
    that's crazy...

Plumbing can be a nightmare. And though I love those trees Ficus ( looks like it) are like major jungle type trees that grow as much below as above. Yes it does suck. Look at old photos with old houses before major plumbing. We had outhouses and sometimes no electricity. No problems then! You really have to do a lot of dang research on tree growth 😢

I was born in Torrance in 1961 and live there until 1968. I remember the beautiful jacarandas and magnolias that lined Brighton Street. Laying on the grass in the front yard shaded by the trees. It's one of my best childhood memories. 💖💖

In the hot summer you're gonna wish you had the shade from all these trees! Foolish decision to cut them down. The city is just worried about lawsuits.
