2024 April 5th -- Garden Update (New Longan & Avocado Trees)

We have a couple of new fruit trees to record. One is a tropical tree. I've stayed away from tropical trees because they tend to be sensitive and are relatively more expensive than citrus, avocado, and freestone. After seeing how my brother's longan tree grew over the years, I learned that longan is a very hardy tropical tree. Additionally, they are relatively inexpensive compared to mango and other tropical trees. Longan also grow quickly and a small tree can produce fruit in a year or two.
The other tree is a 'Reed' avocado; to replace one that I grew many years ago but stunted.

Still growing it, yup. The only one that got dropped is 'Kapoor' because I forgot to save some seeds 😝

I have been searching for krishna basil for 30 years as I didn't know its english name until last week.
I could never forgot the flavor of the soup from my grandma's cooking when I was young.
