HUGE Storm Waves, Portland Bill v2. Great sea swell, English Channel

The notorious Portland Race; the huge turbulence is caused by vast volumes of water surging up and down over the great undersea Portland Ledge, A storm force gale is generating gigantic waves. Spray envelops the famous Portland Bill lighthouse and everything - and everybody - around it! Filmed by Stuart Morris November 2009. (New enhanced version 2016).

Fantastic place. One of the lighthouse keepers cottages pictured can be rented as a holiday home. We spent a week there one October. Also the lighthouse is open and has an interesting visitor centre.

Powerful video. I felt you were able to capture almost a 3-D effect using human scale in most of the video but also filming down to the sea. Cool video.
