La ancora giovanissima Cecilia Bartoli, già in tenerissima età è stata un'interprete e una musicista formidabile e grandiosa.

One of the reasons I so particularly love this production is because the acting is stupendous. All the singers are also fantastically gifted thespians, resulting in a simply hilarious interpretation of this classical operatic gem, absolutely perfect in every way!

J’admire particulièrement Cécilia Bartoli dans ses jeux de scène Non seulement elle chante merveilleusement mais ses mimiques sont extraordinaires surtout dans le duo avec Don Bartolo La mise en scène est sobre mais reflète bien le cadre dans lequel vit le vieux barbon Le chef d’orchestre n’est pas en reste il respecte les chanteurs dans leur expression et tient son orchestre de façon remarquable Un grand BRAVO je conserve cette interprétation dans ma Playlist opéras

Ohraider Surely it is a matter of taste? Wagner is too heavy for me, Carmen is over-performed, & I would choose Aida over Trovatore. Rossini wrote mostly happy, sparkly music, requiring incredible vocal athleticism & breathing control. Totally different style from the operas you name. Florez is young here, but already the best Bel canto tenor of today, possibly ever, as Placido Domingo said. Sorry, I was commenting on the previous clip. Florez isn't in this one!

We met her at age 19 in Paris, Auditorium Paris Opéra Bastille, at the piano jeanine Reiss, Chef de chant, and with my friends we said "this young woman will go far!" we never missed her prestations in operas, songs of Rossini, even a Chant madrécasse by Ravel, and the talented, always smiling and laughing Italian girl, now over 50, has never disappointed us !
