I feel the same way. All of these people having toddler tantrums over a mask. If you have lung issues the last thing you want is Covid. My husband has had 2 lungs surgeries, COPD etc. Every one of his doctors said he should wear a mask. There were no exemptions. I guess these people also never rode the subway here in NY. Bumped into,feet stepped & an occasional grab. Subway riders are called straphangers for a reason. They all give me anxiety & make my blood boil.😡🤬🤬

I swear, where I'm from, it's so different. SO DIFFERENT.
men are always protective for the women because it's hard for women to stand up for themselves verbally, and they put up with constant groping, touching of some pervert nearby. Finally when they've had enough, they just politely say "I'm sorry can you stop doing that?" And then a man nearby or their male friend/partner will yell at the a**hole.
Happened to my mom once when I was a kid. We were on a crowded bus, and she was in front of my dad, and some creep was purposefully was grazing his arm against her waist. She didn't wanna cause a scene, but you could see how uncomfortable she looked, but she still held on to my hand tightly. Even her eyes got a little watery, and i remember being so confused cause i couldn't see what was happening. Eventually she told him "excuse me, can you please stop doing that?" My dad knew immediately, and coincidentally the next bus stop came right there. He dragged this creep by the collar, got down at the bus stop, and gave him a solid punching with blood all over his fist before getting back in the bus to me and my mom.
I went to my friends house that evening, and my parents told me i could stay the night there if i wanted, and so i did. I stayed the night the next day as well.....now i get why....
so yeah , uh, find the right woman, and you'll know she's the right one cause if you stand up at the right time, she will pay back fairly well, I'd say.
As for the 'lady' who was complaining that there were no gentlemen: I would offer my seat to any other woman who was standing. And if she demands I gave my seat to the other woman, I would say: Because, always at least offers his seat to a lady. And as near as I can determine from your behavior, you, Madam, are not a lady.
I'm a 70 yr old man. I was in London a couple of years ago. Every bus and every subway and commuter train has seats reserved specifically for elderly people and pregnant women. I can't tell you how many people tried to give up their seats for me. Usually I was only travelling a couple of stops and I'd say, "Thanks, but no thanks." But they'd keep insisting, so I'd say "Thanks very much," and sit.
Tricky ol' world we live in now isn't it. I live in Melbourne Australia, in case we need to put any perspective on what is and isn't acceptable behaviour. It was a year ago, but I was on the train, and as an older passenger was getting out of his seat to start moving toward the door, the train lurched and he lost his balance and started to fall onto the passengers nearby. I was seated, and I caught him. And because the train continued to lurch around, I held onto him until the train settled down. It was a pretty uncomfortable few seconds let me tell you, but I think he understood and thanked me. I still feel a bit awkward about, worried that I overstepped the boundaries

I used to ride the Metro bus from Downtown Seattle to the Wallingford District every day. Sometimes people would off to stand so I could sit and sometimes they didn't. Plus people had to hang on to the bars at the top so you wouldn't fall down. I never asked anyone to move even when I was pregnant. I used to like the stairwell in front of the doors because I could hold on with 2 hands. People are so weird to get so upset over nothing.

Yeah, the first one I'm on the fence about. I'm not sure about the US, but in the UK, if you are medically exempt, then by law, the police cannot force you.
