I'm actually kinda on the 'Karen''s side for this, some people are just allergic to babies, and it makes no sense for the woman with the baby to insist putting the baby so near to the 'Karen' to potentially wake the baby up. It's like putting your baby next to a loudspeaker that won't shut up. The baby woman did have some accountability to take for 'hurting' the baby's sleep.

She's not staying cuz it's her choice, is her plane seat and can't get off, if the Karen wanted to be right then she could shut up and wait until it happens, not provoke it by crying louder than the baby.

My wife flew with our 3 month old daughter. She fed her on the way up, and the way down. As folks were exiting the plane, there were statements made along the lines of "I never even knew there was a baby on board".

yeah there are ways to prepare an infant to have a hassle free (short) flight. but I just genuinely don't understand how ppl can get legit mad at ppl with cranky babies on a flight. Once upon a time, people used to bend over backwards to give our serving men and women every advantage so that we can speed them on their way in part, to thank them for their service. This lady was fine until the attendant got so abrasive. A lot of service people like plane attendants let that shit go to there heads. She even offered to buy a whole row on a plane that had the seats to fulfil her request. If he would have been a good representative WITH A HEART and moved her curiously I don't think she would have taken her mask off as well. Everybody wants to be an ass. It's a good thing there wasn't a cross on the plane so they could crucify her.

I sure hope she enjoyed the jail cell, I can say with fact the jail pods are NOT quiet by any means, and the other women were probably threatening to give her a beat down for two things, disrespect to the baby that slept through the entire incident, and disrespect to a military member just trying to go home!! I worked in my local county jails for 20 years, the pods are far from quiet!!

The staff was way, way too patient. After the third instruction to put up her mask she should have been removed. I’m shocked the other passengers tolerated her behavior. I could see where someone would easily have gotten physical with her. Not that it would be right, but come on. Who could sit by idly and tolerate that disrespect to a mother and soldier with a sleeping baby. Not me I can promise you.

I get it. I just got jumped on in the comments of a video in which an 8 yr old child was throwing a full on actual tantrum because his father casually assumed the child would share a cookie with their sibling, and I had the audacity to suggest the child should not then get the cookie because they were unwilling to share. Tons of people called me an "abuser" and said I shouldn't have kids and that if I did that I probably raised then to be fked up/"emotionally repressed." Then they suggested the father should have asked the child if he was "in the mood" to share before breaking the cookie in half. I bailed on the uh...."discourse" because just knowing the hard lives that all the spoiled softies in the comments were gonna lead (or already are leading) due to the world constantly denying them their "entitlements," and them absolutely spinning out about it is a satisfying consequence that I didn't want to enable them out of experiencing by correcting, even if I could, all their cognitive distortions.
What gets me is her being loud is exactly what will wake up the baby which she claims not to want lol. The fkn irony.

@@ronaldklug2497 It's a matter of principle. The entitled passenger demanded that her discomfort overstepped the rights of another person. Both paid their fare. Whose is the obligation to move? The one sitting quietly, trying to mind their own business, or the one whose imaginary, and factually unfounded discomfort was quickly irritating the soldier, and numerous other paying passengers around them? She escalated the situation, because she wasn't getting her way, and ran headlong into the consequences. Had she requested to be moved away from the child, it's likely that situation would have been prevented, but she wanted to be served, and was served a hot lesson in decency.

As someone with misophonia, certain sounds trigger me. I always bring earplugs on flights so I won’t need to hear any trigger sounds. This Karen is completely unreasonable. It was a one hour flight and the baby was sleeping. She didn’t have to throw a fit like that. Why was she insisting that the woman with the baby be moved? She could’ve asked to move instead. I don’t understand why this was a battle worth fighting.
Pretty clear, that she's never faced a situation where she didn't get her way. Parents likely caved to her whims and whinges.

I was flying in from Germany, and a woman came on board with a baby. She tried several seats coming down the aisle. People were making rude comments about a baby on a plane. My thought was that they thought the baby should have walked. The woman looked at me with a concerned look. I asked if she wanted my seat on the aisle or was the one next to me. She chose the one next to me. Her baby was a delight. I was treated with baby giggles and not very loud squeals. The mother said that she had never seen her baby get along with a stranger before. I suggested that she only allow someone to get close to her baby if she was there. The mother asked what I did for a living. I told her that I am a Child Psychologist.
If your experience was negative you wouldn't be saying a thing. Some babies are calm usually but some are miserable. They took a survey, people would rather hear a jack hammer breaking up the sidewalk outside than a baby crying. No matter what noise was presented in the survey; baby crying was always 100% the one to avoid.
I do not understand why these encounters go on and on and on. Tell them ONCE to follow directions and if they do not immediately do it, drag them off.

That whole plane scene looks like exactly that, a scene……created, for views and NOT something that happened on an actual aircraft. They don’t call an Air Marshal BEFORE take off, they call the police. Air Marshals are used while in the air NOT while on the ground.
Just look at all the comments and you will barely find any that see this for what it really is, which really tells me something about the average person

@@nancymillar8768 been there done that too. Mom was trying to eat and hold her baby and I offered to hold her while she ate. Little grabbed a big ole handful of tee shirt (along with chest hair...)and went back to sleep. Didn't bother me in the slightest, and Mom got a little bit of a break.
Those air marshals had much more patience with that woman than she deserved.

It's a lack of customer care when she offered to pay for a whole row in a plane that had the seats to accommodate her. Covid power went to a lot of people's heads. This whole thing didn't have to go down the way it did if the attendant was listening and using common sense.

created a situation that was exasperating and annoying not only for the patient mother holding the sleeping baby, but the courteous attendant and the passengers unfortunate enough to be seated in the immediate vicinity. The Karen should have been removed from the plane much sooner. Banning her from all airlines would be a good solution as she is the type of person who will make herself obnoxious over the slightest thing.

As a flight attendant myself I can assure you this 8 minute episode was 7 minutes longer than it would've been on MY flight. After the first minute it's "ok miss, get your things...you're not taking this flight."

The video started before the “Mom” entered the scene. The video never moves or shakes. Like it’s on a pedestal and not handheld. No one ever speaks, laughs or walks to their rows. Only a couple of ppl clap. Only local authorities and company personnel would be involved in this situation, including the removal, Never Air Marshals! I know of no airline that has their Flight Attendants carry walkie-talkies to communicate with ground personnel, especially when it comes to unruly passengers. The Pilots would be the ones to contact the tower and agents. Not Flight Attendants. And the list goes on.

I don’t get folks like her. Babies and small children are going to fly on planes. Sometimes they might get cranky. Most parents do their best to keep them quiet, but sometimes children be in their own little mood. That woman was rude the moment that lady sat down. By the end the mother seems like she was in tears. People like that messy woman need to drive wherever they’re going, if possible, or hire a private plane.
