Its an Astonishing machine and one of its kind, but I think investing around 74 to 80 lakhs and above and taking it to an outing or a hardcore offroad patches in India is a very very long way to go...
in that way, Mahindra Thar makes more sensible.
@V G that's true...but for hardcore off-roads Indians mindset do not risk there 75- 80 lakhs defender as they would do for a considerably cheaper car like Thar.
@V G more luxurious? Yes. More capable off-road? Not in a million years. Landovers have lost its way. The Thar is superior off-road in more ways than 1 compared to this toy from land rover. The old defender and discos were their serious offroaders.

I just saw this today in Bangalore. It’s packed with electronic gizmos and beautifully designed with lots of thoughtful touches. However at the price it comes at I’m not at all sure how many people will ever take it where it is meant to go and use it the way it was meant to be or designed for.
For the average common man one may have to wait ten years until they come into the used market at an affordable price in order to be able to own one...

Why you guys didn't reviewed mahindra thar... still unable to understand because I was waiting for that video from you guys and the wait is still on... Not many people can by it in india because of it's pricing ( land rover defender), when comes to off road we see vehicles like thar, Gurkha, endeavour, fortuner etc, which are far more practical to us.

it sucks that as Indian we have to consider the fact that will our family and relatives be happy with how the car looks and feels inside and outside. That is so typical of us. This is a Defender, a proper SUV. It is NOT a family car. Go buy a Velar if you want a family car.

This is a disgrace to the legendary defender. Monocoque chassis+ No solid axle front or rear. This is a rich man's mall crawler.
The new one is much more capable off road. Just sayin
@@rishabbennett How? The chassis is not as strong. The suspension has no flex . The electronics and air suspension are just fancy tech that no one in their right mind would prefer to buy for off-roading. The air ride is going to fail and to put a lift in this car would be a pain. No manual lockers. Its hot garbage compared to the previous gen.
@@pranavp386 how do you know the chassis is not as strong...thats just bs m8. Go watch carwow's new vs old defender. Shows how capable the new one is. I agree with the suspension point but still the new one strikes a good balance whereas the old one wouldn't be as good a daily driver on the road. And all the new offroad tech does help a lot.
Hats off to those who are saying instead of buying this, one should go for the thar. 🤦♂️🤦♂️

The Thar is far superior. It has a body on frame chasis ,solid rear axle and manual lockers.
The defender is monocoque chasis and has all four independent supension🤮 . It also does not have manual lockers. The rear locker is managed by a computer and the front is basically a glorified traction control. Now combine this with the ridiculous price tag and garbage land rover reliability and spares makes this a far worse option than even a thar.

Everything is superior in that Defender its technology power fit and finish . You call it a Garbage how could you man . And the pricing is reasonable not over priced.

😍❤️Love the new landover defender. The look and design unmistakable as a defender, purpose built at the same time stylish. This is an ultimate go any where SUV that also can be used on daily basis.
The interior of the car is also just as impressive as the exterior. It has the Simplicity at the same fairly luxurious as a landover should. The quality of the materials are really good, a very nice infotainment display and digital cluster. The best features is there are plenty of hd cameras all-round. Also lot off customization option. So all in all the new defender is a SUV that lot of us to love own. ❤️❤️defender.

It's like sophisticated LRD, Though it is all launched in absolutely in new avatar. But lost the DNA of old Defender which to me was the cult and purest form I am wondering the New LRD may not be able to perform as the Old Defender did may be my apprehension. But will appeal to many with more out going ( off road going folks) .Anyway cool SUV. PD ever cinematic review.
