Very nice, and quite moving to hear Mr.Barber mention Ken Colyer, who wrote this. They were two of the most important factors in the spread of New Orleans jazz in this country. I wonder if Mr. Barber feels, as I do, that that original Barber/Colyer band was so very special.
Well done, Chris, sung and played very nicely.

Thank's for posting ! It's nice -for me- to see and hear Chris (a close friend since january 1961) in 2013. I miss Pat, John, and all members "now in the sky" but the actual "Chris Barber Jazz Band" give the same sound as 10, 20, 30, 40 Years before today. Best Wishes to ABrandsma, best Wishes to Chris and Jackie Flawelle from Jo Luttringer, "le petit détective"

In addition to his talent as a musician Chris has a great sense of wry humour and I like the way he addresses the audience in German. He and Satchmo are my two favourite jazz men. Ken Colyer's version of this, though, is peerless.

Geweldig, in dit nummer is de oude "Barber-sound" nog goed te horen, mede dank zij de klarinetpartij van de geboren Sodommer Bert Brandsma, het deed me weer aan de tijd van Monty Sunshine denken.

I always liked his band, with or without the luscious Otillie Patterson, but I can't stand banjos. Or accordions. Or French horns. Or people who complain about them.
