RIP CHRIS. YOU WERE MY FAVOURITE ON RUclips. I DISCVERED YOU LATE ABOUT SAY 5 YEARS AGO. I MISSED A LOT OF YOU. YOUR MUSIC IS A LEGACY TO YOUR LIFE WHICH WILL LIVE AEONS AFTER YOU ARE GONE. YOU DELIGHTED THE WHOLE WORLD WITH EVERGREEN MUSIC. SWEET MUSIC.
Thanks a lot Chris Barber and Bert Brandsma for this 2013 "Goin' Home" . Now during the Corona Crisis (2020) our First Minister(s) asking all Musicians in the WORLD to STAY home.
Sad about the death of Chris Barber. But what remains are the many beautiful memories of his performances. Thank you for that, Mr. Barber, rest in peace.
Amazing talent Bert. Chris is a true living legend in every sense of the word. You are great on the clarinet too Bert and thanks for keeping this fan up to speed with all the latest from Chris and the Band. :-)
I LOVE THE CHRIS BARBER JAZZ ORCHESTRA....IF THIS BE A SECRET ITS OUT FOR SURE.........YOU CAN TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE.......NONE FINER THE MUSIC IS AGELESS,TIMELESS.....CHRIS IS OVER EIGHTY AND STILL GOING STRONG..I HOPE I AM IF I EVER GET TO THAT 80 PLATEAU................JAZZMAN JOE
Very nice, and quite moving to hear Mr.Barber mention Ken Colyer, who wrote this. They were two of the most important factors in the spread of New Orleans jazz in this country. I wonder if Mr. Barber feels, as I do, that that original Barber/Colyer band was so very special. Well done, Chris, sung and played very nicely.
Thank's for posting ! It's nice -for me- to see and hear Chris (a close friend since january 1961) in 2013. I miss Pat, John, and all members "now in the sky" but the actual "Chris Barber Jazz Band" give the same sound as 10, 20, 30, 40 Years before today. Best Wishes to ABrandsma, best Wishes to Chris and Jackie Flawelle from Jo Luttringer, "le petit détective"
Я вообще люблю диксиленд. Пару лет тому нашел в записях 30-х группу Chris Barber. Восхищен! Восхищен и творческим долголетием Mr.Barber! И членов его группы- Pat Halcox, John Crocker, Jan Wheeler..
In addition to his talent as a musician Chris has a great sense of wry humour and I like the way he addresses the audience in German. He and Satchmo are my two favourite jazz men. Ken Colyer's version of this, though, is peerless.
Geweldig, in dit nummer is de oude "Barber-sound" nog goed te horen, mede dank zij de klarinetpartij van de geboren Sodommer Bert Brandsma, het deed me weer aan de tijd van Monty Sunshine denken.
I always liked his band, with or without the luscious Otillie Patterson, but I can't stand banjos. Or accordions. Or French horns. Or people who complain about them.

Did Chris play at that programm?
@@ABrandsma Kenny Ball used to have a regular slot, but I don't remember seeing Chris on it though, certainly not as a regular, more's the pity.
@@Old-Jazz-by-Terry Guess Chris was more popular in Germany, he was often on TV there.
