They could always just go back to the original tackle and not worry about it. I'm old enough to remember when guys didn't throw themselves at another guy like a missile or do the hip drop thing. Just do the good old fashion tackle.

I lost a rooting interest in the nfl several years ago as the hamstringing of defenses and the decline in quality of play from lack of practice became impossible to ignore. (Full disclosure being a giants fan made it pretty easy)
