At the age of 62 my youngest son suggested this group to me, knowing what he considers good music....heavy metal with screaming, I never imagined I would like NW....he gave me four songs to listen to, Ghost love score, Bless the Child, Aramanth and Ever Dream.....I have to tell you, I was in complete shock that a band THIS good could have been out there killing it for all those years and I had not even heard their name.....it's criminal that they are not better known.
Yes, same here. I had not heard of Nightwish or Floor until around 12 months ago but watched and listened to "The Poet and the Pendulum" live after a friend kept pestering me to do so, so I did not expecting to like symphonic metal but OMG I was blown away and have been down the Nightwish rabbit hole ever since soaking up everything from the wonderful Tarja and Annette eras and now the incomparable Floor. How had I not heard of them before 🤔😔
I "discovered" Nightwish 4 or 5 years ago. I have their Waken 2013 Cds. They play so often in my car that I fear that they may wear out! I wake each morning to Alpenglow then Everdream played on RUclips through a nice old stereo system. I love their earlier material too. Tarja's Nemo and her Phantom of the Opera (with Marco as the evil sounding Phantom), either song brings me to tears! I've seen them now once so now that is crossed off of my Bucket List. Of course I have to see them again! Nightwish is the band I've waited for throughout my music listening life. I'm 68.
What a nice reaction to my favorite band and singer. The Concert in Wacken 2013 was so good. Each song was great. I saw Nightwish twice last month. Great band. Greetings from the Netherlands and go on with Nightwish

The song is more operatic in nature than later works and the music itself is more on the heavy metal side. It is still played live since 2002 until today. "Ever Dream" was certified with Gold Disc in Finland two days after its release, with more than 5,000 copies sold, and later received Platinum Disc with more than 10,000 copies sold.
