- I try to clean the lens element's in my AF Micro Nikkor 60mm 1:2.8 D, some element's was not so good, but it turn out to be okay, but also because it's more difficult to clean the lens element's when there is a ring where the lens element is sitting in a frame ring.
I use both "Eclipse" lens cleaner and lighter fluid, and of course "PEC-PAD" lens tissues

I just received a 60 Micro all the way from South Korea to the US and there was something on one of the rear elements. This video just saved me a lot of time, money and hassle to either return the lens or pay a professional to clean it. THANK YOU!

Having some experience with several lenses AF Micro-Nikkor 60mm F/2.8, I warn that in most cases dismantling the lens to try and clean the front lens group from fungus is just risky and useless work. Risky because it is esy to end up with more dust and/or damage than before, useless because fungus lodges behind the front lens and the space between the first and second lens is sealed and CANNOT BE OPENED. Therefore fungus CANNOT be removed, as also seen in this video. The only way to fix this problem is to procure (if available) a spare front element lens group and replace the dirty one.
Have you tried the af300f4 ed if for opening to clean glass.Oh and i see you use eclipse optic cleaning liquid .I dident know they did it .I have used the sensor one .But it doesent suit lenses.Thanks for shareing this excellent work it,s very nerve wrecking for me .

Hello, I have an AF Micro Nikkor 60mm 1:2.8D and the Manual/Automatic ring has 2 cracks directly where the screw is and 4mm beside it. Result, the ring slip between M and A and I have a hard time making it work properly, the ring tends to get out of the socket and I am afraid it will completely get out soon. I am new at trying to repair lenses and wonder where to get a replacement M/A ring part and wonder if you could show how to make such a repair on a video. Thank you for your prompt response

Great video! I just want to clean the same lens but I find there are some fungus between the optics element. Refer the video at 39:24. Is it possible to apart the two glass of the element please? Than you in advance.
Thank you for your videos sir. Very helpful. How did you vacuum out lens element from the front group? Did you use some solvent to unglue it? It is pretty much fixed in place somehow. Is it possible to do the same with element in the back group? Thank you in advance.

BS! You probably introduce a lot more dust and s*** into a lens by doing this. I have the same Nikkor, over over 10 years. Wouldn´t dream of taking it apart. Don´t one minute trick yourself into believing you can reassemble this lens to the tolerances Nikon originally did.
