You Start Malik to keep the ball moving! Keon is not a playmaker. He can't handle ball pressure. Teams will double fox n the Kings pace will become very slow with no Malik. Malik gives the Kings pace.
That’s like saying Bobby Jackson should have started over Doug Christie because Bobby was the better ball handler and scorer/playmaker. You always start your best defender as offense can always come off the bench.
@@RoneMusik Carter has shown more playmaking in the 2 games when he was in the G-League (and when he was at Providence in college). However, I don't think he will be given playmaking responsibilities this year as he will be paired with either Fox or Monk for the remainder of the season. Perhaps watch the garbage minutes in the 4th quarter of the King-Warriors game to get a hint at what he is capable of.
@@michaelfredgren3910 he has looked good from the bit I’ve seen, just not comfortable yet as expected. I’ll have to check out his college stuff also. But as long as Carter/Keon spend more time paired with Monk/Fox than each other then I think that’s really good for the team at this moment
@@RoneMusik For right now, I would probably agree. However, in the near future, Fox, Murray & Ellis are all free agents during the same off-season. I don't think the Kings will have the salary cap space to resign/extend all 3 of these guys even if Huerter's salary comes off the books. So I don't know if a Cam Johnson trade for Huerter+Ellis+multiple 2nd round picks makes more sense in the near future. Remember, Brooklyn's HC was a Sac King assistant coach so he may go to bat for getting Keon as well.
The De'Aaron Fox injury was a blessing in disguise Doug Christie figured out minutes on who he wants to play without Fox The kings could beat Boston Sabonis is probably stronger than Porziņģis controlling the paint basically I'm putting the matchup on Sabonis and Porziņģis and I believe Sabonis is going to beat him
This question just shows that Keon should probably be traded at the trade deadline or next off-season. He is entering the last year of his contract and is due a large pay raise. Unfortunately, he will be asking for that raise when Fox's and Murray's extensions are also being added to the Team Salary. Even with Huerter's $18 mil coming off the books, I just don't see the nearly $40+ mil being available to resign these 3 players.
Neon Keon!
Are we forgetting what Malik has done during this winning streak?

Monk gon start, Keon and Carter are going to be the best defensive backcourt in the league for our second unit
Kevin Huerter RIP.
Hmmm.. interesting.. I’m curious if either one is enough of a facilitator to have those two as your backcourt for the second unit ..

you gotta start keon. fox and derozan has to be enough starting fire power because we have limited bench production.
Da Boom! More like "Ka~Boom!"

I think you are on to something! We have to watch the 3s though. 🫣

@@michaelfredgren3910 you make points … good ones
Monk is the only player on the Kings that’s a must-start
Keyon "Freddy Kruger Fasbear" goes to the bench and our bench nickname should be the nightmare squad cause they give the opposing players nightmares.
What the hell is the big deal about starting and coming off the bench?!🤔
Perceived market value, starting pace and momentum, skills that compliment the star players, second unit leadership, etc
There is no need for a trade you have to see what you have if you trade for anyone try to get Russell Westbrook Devon Carter is playing very well
lol monk is the starter, are we gonna make this a question every week?
K9 🦮
Westbrook Monk Carter and Lyles coming off the bench is a really good combination trade for Westbrook if you make a trade
Trade Fox for Cam, start Monk, Ellis, DeRosan, Demontas and Johnson. Carter, Lyles, Murray, Huerter and Len top subs.
