From what I can tell you need a surface in range of the sensors, so if your ceiling is too far away it won't work without some light source as it will try and fallback to cameras.
I've heard IR light source will give it enough non-visible light for the camera system to work in the dark.

There’s so much evangelizing on this product as if it is essential to life. Apple products that I own are limited to an iPhone and iPad. As to my computers, I prefer FOSS and something that I can upgrade easily.

It does not need any light. A message popped up that says it will not track your hands in VR. But as long as you don’t block the bottom cameras, it will let you use it in pitch black. It has its own infrared projector.
How about going to accessibility, when in darker areas... And turning off hands... And using just eyes to select options. Or maybe just voice. That should work, right? 🤷🏾♂️... I gotta try that tonight.

OMG, I had an amazing dream last night where I was walking around on my desktop! I just sat there in real time looking over the icons...thinking of which app to launch...um... actually, come think on it, what a boring dream. Is my life so dull that I'm excited about replacing the space that nature made for escape, the dream space, with a "productivity" space?

I don't get why people treat youtubers as the only human being living on the face of the planet Earth. There are a lot of people who bought Vision Pro not for making youtube videos but actually enjoy of what it does

Critics have complained about it the AVP low light inoperability since DAY 1! How could you not know about it? Don’t forget to set “Travel Mode” BEFORE you start flying. You can’t set it once you start. You can go into the accessibility section It has a ton of customizations. Eye tracking adjustments for the visually impaired that lists settings on how to track with a pointer, a finger or your head, how to zoom in and all kinds of adjustments. Maybe Apple already made AR glasses. Apple has similar HUD type technology currently in maps, the car dashboard and Find My apps.
I think “Spacial Computing” is a different and harder concept to get across than AR glasses with navigation and identifying objects.
The only thing I can think of regarding the potty…kind of humor content part of this podcast…lol is solely the two-way audio stuff:
So provided that it’s with at least Apple products and whatever default level of call quality that they already do passively? Mic and speaker quality have always gone up right, I think I saw once you can tap or pinch to mute one of the stems. I forget if that’s programmable or not but anyways.
Whether or not Additional mic/voice isolation is activated? I think they do do some of that even without flipping that switch from Quick drop-down settings and control center. The other end would be if they were using again AirPods or noise canceling earbuds, they also can’t hear anything in the bathroom whether they’re making the noise or other people are.
Just had this thought of well wait, is it possible For two people to be on the phone on iPhones and AirPods and only hear each other’s voices? that’s as far as I took this. Haha but yeah

my biggest problem of apple is 1 price 2 letting work for everyone on different os like windows or android you can just use windows with an apple vision pro its closed off to freedom of choice

RUclipsrs in the past would say it flat out “I can’t afford it, I’ll get it only to review,” Not ideal but understandable. These new influencers from TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and RUclips have multiplied and viewers notice patterns. Yes, many will buy the expensive devices, upload a ton of videos. They are too fabulous, never broke but always “disappointed” in those products. Trashing the device as justification for why they are returning it. It’s not only they are lying to their viewers, they are lying and potentially costing the viewer money because of rotten information. You call us cynical but you are naive if you can’t see their desperation for sponsors and constant obsession with the “algorithm” and numbers. Yes, some of these people will lie through their teeth to get or keep a lucrative sponsor. Some may even have the same thoughts you have-“I’m not crying over a multi billion dollar company.”

No, he’s wrong. You cannot use the quest at all at night unless you buy an infrared light to shine on you.
quest 3 is sufficiently good for darkness with controllers imo for watching movies
