I think this is a great dock for most of the people who are not pro computer users. It can support both Mac and windows laptops which could save a lot of money for its user. Consider how many people have both Mac and windows laptops at home, instead of having two different docks, this one is perfect.
The CalDigit TS4 has just a single DP and no HDMI but with a display adapter cable can use additional monitors but also includes additional TB ports. More importantly for many however is that the host connector is on the rear where it belongs. I will stick with my TS4, thank you.
Will this dock cause my M3Max to drop the refresh rate to 30 Hz on a Dual 4k display setup after waking up from sleep? I had this behavior on three T4 docks I tested. Only reconnecting the dock to the Macbook brought 60 Hz back.
Hi Jerry, do you think this could be good enough for running games? Had a different box that lagged quite on gaming @ 60Hz. Have you tested this dock with a game as well, how good the displays work?
A bunch of legacy ports. Why not just more TB4 ports? I don't need the old ports. Please someone make a four, six or eight port TB4 dock and skip the old legacy stuff.
I love TS3 Caldigit. Can I ask from Schulz. Did they (Caldigit) fix sleeping mode issues of monitors with MB and Studio with TS4. I bought in 2022 and it was taking out port and put back on TB4 after it goes to sleeping mode.

The TS4 supports 2.5Gb ethernet, the same as the Satechi in this video
The host port on the rear is a big deal. The front host port is so annoying, and a disconnection can mean mayhem!

It says HDMI 2.1, but can't really give you any benefits of HDMI 2.1? No 4K 120hz? No VRR?

You shouldn’t have lag with any thunderbolt dock.

I think the most you will get is on the OWC dock but then you still have to figure out video ports. I love the TS4 and TS3.
