I'm want to show you how to style an ascot. No you don't have to wear it with a suit and its actually not as formal as you think. I'll show you how simple it is and hopefully inspire you to up your neckwear game. Also knowing how to style an ascot or cravat will make you a modern gentleman.

I dig the cravat, looks good, also retains some heat in cooler weather, there's a lot of good stuff there. But I can't carry that off here in the rural borderland of England and Wales 🤣 Just not brave enough, man 🤣
Anyone who wears a cravat and it’s not a costume is a brave soul. If one day you venture out with one; just know you’re braver than all that surround you.
I've marched through both Monmouth and Cheppers with a cravat. Rather pleased to report that I wasn't murdered, and only mildly harassed. Not sure my luck would hold were I try that in Newport, however.

I live in the Netherlands were the culture is very informal (derived from Calvinism). I dress my best daily. To go to work, supermarket or stay at home. It does not matter. I do it for myself. People look at me and act surprised and scared. I get asked daily, without exaggerating. “Do you have a party to go to?” “Why are you so chic?” Those who do not know me look at me terrified.
@@jenxsj3902 I always think that Europe in general is better dressed than the States. Thank you for changing the perspective slightly. I have a theory that dressing casually makes us less likely to think for ourselves. Just a thought.

The silk of the ascot touches the skin... How do you clean it? Due to the frailty of the silk, you can't wash it with water. You can't have it dry cleaned either.
The one I have is cotton. But I’d still rock silk, make sure I’m clean, but also not worry if the silk gets a lil oil from my skin. Part of the character.
Can you wear it to business casual work environment?
Yes! But an ascot will grab some attention no matter where. Just be prepared for the attention; good and bad.
How do I wear an ascot with a polo shirt? I've seen other videos that say not to do it....
Do what makes you feel good. Like I said in the vid, this is actually less casual than a tie. So you you don’t have to wear it with a button up. But if you don’t like the look with a polo don’t do it. I think it looks fantastic
