One of the things I like about the videos is the emphasis on why you're taking these animals-- the fact that they pose significant risks to farmers. A lot of people, unfortunately, think hunting is simply killing for the fun of killing. But no; the sport is in hitting a target; hunting just turns that sport into a helpful service.
It's been incredible to see what you have been able to accomplish over time with your .22 air rifle being limited to that caliber and it's as powerful as most .25 and .30 calibers from the factory when it comes to ft-lbs. That's so awesome. That 800mm barrel is a beast!

Thank youi for this, I'm working on eradicating ground squirrels at a horse showing area in Calif. Currently using a Savage A17 with .17HMR rounds at 114 meters, they don't stand a chance. But there is a dog on the property that doesn't like loud noises so...it's airgun time, and a very deep rabbit hole to get to that point. I've got a Zobria Sapsan, working my way up and learning airguns. Guess I'll have to crank it up and start throwing slugs.

Lovely landscape, looks a bit like southern Nevada and Arizona. You even have Joshua trees! Around my parts (Kentucky), ground burrowing vermin are quite the pest -- rather than costing a beef, it can take out a million dollar horse!

You inspire me a lot my king🤴 because I love marksmanship thus you've taught me so so so much in your videos....You, Gerhard and Roelf!. It's a pity these equipments are quiet pricey esp quality products like FX and Element Optic scopes and the likes but nonetheless I'm hooked on shooting. A year ago, I bought myself a .177 Gamo Swarm Magnum for Its powerful flat trajectory for so I can get a club and partake in HFT " and have been shooting silhouettes and Bench on my range up to 50metres since but now i would like to venture into pest control also because I'm very good with my gun up to that range.
Please kindly advise on where I should start to do this legally like you guys as per SA's laws specifically for Rat and Pigeon pest control ? I would appreciate your help in this regard and would love to meet you one day. I'll make sure to have my flip flops with so that I can also fit In with yol Lol

I shoot squirrels that are similar to these, but in Idaho in the U. S. of A. I hunt on cultivated, irrigated, alfalfa crop fields where there are squirrels by the millions. One day I had 350 confirmed kills before we broke for lunch. I shoot a .17 caliber semi-auto Savage rifle with a half dozen 25 round magazines. I shoot the 17HMR because it shoots flatter farther than the .22 Long Rifle that I started with.

I would like to buy an FX rifle for hunting and target work that has about the most reliability and lowest overall maintenance…what would you suggest sir? Wildcat MK3, Crown Continuum, MK3 Impact? BTW…yes is is a luxury to get out now and then and I’m glad you found some time to enjoy what matters in life. God bless you both.
I have owned a few different fx rifles. And i currently own an fx impact at the moment. If i were you and you have the money. I would buy the fx impact. It's everything you want from an airgun. Precision,power,adjustability and compact. Good luck
Impact M3 or the Dreamline Power Pup. I have no idea why no one is talking about the Power Pup it's one of the most powerful slug shooters they have, and laser accurate. plus it is lightweight, good for walk-about hunting, and uses the larger extended mags. Get at least a 700mm barrel. I have both an Impact M3 and a Power Pup. Both are excellent.

Matt- Why use the Wildcat over the Power Pup? The Power Pup seems like a much more capable Bullpup model, and uses the larger mags. I purchased one over the Wildcat MKIII due to these reasons and it was a brilliant choice. Another good video, thanks

Quick question for you Matt or maybe one of your followers can answer.
After cocking a PCP airgun, how long can you leave it cocked before worrying about the hammer spring losing some of its spring? It's original spring force?
I guess it would depend on the gun, but I've heard gunsmith Mark Novak say that, with a good quality spring, it's not the amount of time spent compressed, but the number of repetitions that determines wear and loss of "springyness", as long as you stay within the designed parameters of the spring (you don't over stretch it).
So, IN THEORY, you should be good indefinitely. Although, I highly discourage storing a gun in cocked condition, from a safety standpoint. That's simply begging for an accidental discharge at some point.
Also... With most modern pcp rifles, cocking is hardly any noisier or slower than taking off the safety, so there's hardly any point in carrying it cocked and locked on a hunt. But if a shot presents, you cock it, and the opportunity dissolves before you manage to take the shot, and you decide to just click it on safe in stead of decocking it, you shouldn't have to worry about damaging your gun.
But you should discharge the chambered shot before putting the gun in storage.
