- Victoria's Secret's newest Angel is speaking out about challenges she's experienced in her career. "I want black models to understand that their voice matters and that they are of value," she said.
What is so irritating is that Imani, Naomi, Tyra , did so much for the industry and its 2019 and it's still even more work to do just for the basics. How the heck do you not have makeup for dark skin now?
@John Hillman what do you mean? Is it worse in paris??
@@kamilleseven283 yes its worst.
@ they don't sell makeup for black ppl?
@@TCt83067695 in Paris not a lot for black skin 😕 we dont matter
@ wow. C'est étonnant. Je regarde plein des vidéos de France et quelques fois je vois beaucoup des gens noirs dedans.
J'ai jamais su qu'il n'y a pas beaucoup de gens noirs à Paris.
Black "is" beautiful!

Wow she’s beautiful😍
she is
She looks like a fairy 😍
Her personality is so cute
Lucky girl.. It always seems as though good things come to those who don't chase it.. She was scouted twice despite ignoring the first opportunity. Meanwhile I'm here chasing every opportunity and not getting anywhere :(
Best of luck in your success Leomie! Pretty girl
She probably looked good (which takes effort) when she was scouted so it wasn't totally luck
Black is classic, diamond, gold, and unlimited.
That interviewer looking like a whole snack!
Bless her.She speaks truth.i despise the fashion industry, yet also applaud women speaking their truth.
She and other models need to raise the level of discourse.we need to speak of how we objectify women, even today,as nothing more than arm candy and window dressing.
We are whole human beings just like men.
We've the right to wear OUR hair any damned way we wish.
Natural is beautiful.
Shine from within.
The superficial quickly passes.
MG Massey well put!
@@nadaleenatasha thank u so much.
what about Naomi Sims and Beverly Johnson? These women broke racial barriers way b4 Tyra, Iman, and naomi campbell even came on the scene. Give these women their props.🤨

So proud of all these women stepping up and crushing the barriers, I am a Caucasian woman but I am almost in tears looking at this. Not only because Of the bravery and power of these women but that there are barriers to break through.

GO OFFFFFF SIS
Wish she went in deeper about actual economic struggles of black women beyond the superficial stuff eg talk about debt, post natal death etc
But happy for her nonetheless that she's using her platform for something positive.
this about being a black woman in the fashion industry, not about being a black woman in the world
@@JordanWilliams-ix2td black women in the fashion industry don't have actual economic struggles like other black women of the world?
The most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen
Obsessed with this woman ❤️🖤
She has tons of personality when she walks that runway.
Yes. Gorgeous.
Big deal nothing new..black opal makeup did what fenti has done.
You obviously aren't paying attention then.
She's beautiful.
she is the new age super model I am in love with her all she stands for.
An interesting question? Is it only about color or is it about features. I think what the industry also looks for is European features even though she is a women of color. Do those features make it a little more acceptable when the industry is faced with more Afrocentric features? Let me hear your opinions on this subject matter, be constructive in your thought.
beyondrace666
Im not so sure. Some think this industry is more accepting of Black women with light skin and more Eurocentric-like features. It’s a very racist whitewashed industry and that’s why a lot of people are calling it out...but then again, I’m not completely sure if that’s what they only accept since there are famous black models who’s features aren’t very similar to white people’s such as Naomi, Oluchi, Nikki Thot and Alek Wek. I don’t really think the industry is about looks tbh, but more so about body type, it just so happen that the industry is very racist and white centered so they pass up a lot of black women (regardless of how beautiful they are) just to hire white ones. They would literally pass up a gorgeous black model to hire a basic white one that look like 30 of the other white models they hired...its slowly changing though, at lease that’s what I hope. Its sad that models still have to deal with this in 2019
Here's an in interesting for you... What does beauty look like to you in your eyes..?
Some Blacks are dark skinned with 'European features' some Blacks can be very light skin with Afrocentric features.
Amen Amen 👏🏻💯✊🏿👍🏿🙏🏿
Wow she is beautiful
offhand seems like kinda a safe cause. but still good
glad to see an interviewer of color here
It takes a lot of courage to speak up
Congratulations.
Oh please Tyra and Naomi are the most famous models ever
Depends what decade you are thinking of. Different models ruled different decades. Beverley Johnson and iman were massive in the 80's.
She beautiful. Homie foine tho
😍
I like Leomie alot no problem from me.
wow. can't say I was expecting the cockney accent. Lol. Good for her though!!
That’s not cockney
She is cute
Say nonwhite models, not “models of color.” I’m tired of y’all calling us that, it’s annoying. The issue is being nonwhite in a whitewashed industry, not necessarily us being “models of color.”
@Jose Chivo "I dont see fuken color" so you're colorblind?
THANK YOU. I hate that stupid phrase
Tobby The Tobester u see beauty and assume its mixed with white. This is a dark skinned girl of Jamaican heritage just like me. She’s BLACK. Sure most colonized black people have some white in them but it is minimal and distant. Stop ur stupidly and ignorance
@@HotTea1111 no, it means that it doesn't matter to a person what color their skin is. That's what color blindness also means.
So Rihanna she thinks she's her or something .. I don't know.
Only 26 she young
how progressive
O stfu everything's color this n that.
Yeah shes barely black
How? She is as dark as they come.

straight hair? talk about cultural appropriation!

Straight hair doesn’t belong to a culture idiot...learn what a term actually means before you use it
We love hair styles you will always see a black women hair in different styles.....your soooooo late...
Next week something new...
We never like the same old hair style....WE DO WHAT WE WANT WITH OUR HAIR.....ITS OUR BUSINESS
@@imaginethat5115
Yeah, but we do need to lay off the weave a bit.
Straight hair doesn't belong to one culture though 😂 Also, it sounds like you have the definition mixed up.
@@charlotteziggy8353
It's called flat iron the same thing we use back in the day a pressing comb the same thing white women and others do when they want to straighten out their curly hair for a different look as well... people just look at texture and assume that other people don't wear weaves or wigs I see it all the damn time😂🤣 and it isn't always just blackfolks either just like all black women don't wear extensions..layoff our wigs and weaves call Hollywood and tell them to layoff there's...why does our hair styles offend you...you not paying... you guys are so concerned cuz you're all in our business from the internet watching all them black videos all in our culture and our business... then go copy it...white women now on RUclips trying to do weave videos now... talk more mess then go copy when you realize it makes money.. I want to tell white women stop wearing blonde I'm so damn tired of that color every every every white girl blonde with that fake blonde in your hair I'm tired of just seeing ponytails its so boring can they change it up a little bit... you tired of seeing weave 'm tired of seeing them boring styles to so I guess we even..
Stop complaining and make your own brand. Victoria secret aint everything. There are plenty of other places where you can seek approval from.
