  • I have been asked many times to do a range finding binocular review so when I was finally able to do one, I wanted to do it right. In this review I compare the Vortex Fury 500AB, Sig Kilo 3K, Leica Geovid 3200.com, Revic Acura, Sig Kilo 10K ABS and Zeiss Victory RF. This was hands down the most complicated review I have ever done, and I have been working on it for the last two months. If you have any additional questions please drop them in the comments section below.
I am raffling off a brand-new pair of Revic Acura BLR10b Binoculars.

Great Review! There are a few actionable items with your feedback on the winning Revic Acura BLR10b that we will work on. Focus wheel tension. Eyecups, which by the way we built as a feature for ease of replacement, will get a mild locktite. I think clarifying that the Revic DOES do "advanced ballistics", and has the slickest wind system for basic and advanced use. Revic does NOT use "Applied Ballistics" which is what was intended by the reviewer. From our very technical evaluation approach, we don't disagree on the majority of the rankings.

Great review as always Jay! Really enjoy your in-depth and most importantly objective approach. I've recently got Vortex Fury 5000 AB and paired it up with Garmin Tactix 7 Pro Ballistics AB watch. This eliminates the need to take the phone out, so once you range the target, you can drop the bino and focus on rifle adjustments quickly. Haven't tested the setup just yet, but that's the idea. Anyways, you got a new member, keep up the good work.

I personally own the kilo 3k and i hunt in the yukon where a lot of glassing is required and range finding comes in very useful for navigation, stalking and shooting. I personally dont have a problem with the optic performance or the kilo 3k just not a fan of the eye piece that are always loose are stuck.
That being said i have never tried high quality optic (swaro, zeis...) But i just think it is more than feasible to hunt and be successful with equipment that coast an arm and a leg lol.

The Revic having the Longrange near and far has been useful hunting this year in sage country.Ive used them for Antelope at 500,Audad at 850,several whitetails from 350-500.Ive trued all my ballistic profiles using the BC adjustment since my longrange systems all have faster twist rates. The wind is faster than a kestrel.Ive been shooting every week past a mile out to 2300 yards and the solutions are always spot on.When they first came out I timed myself with the app open and can change between profiles from 8-12 seconds.I do have the Geovids also. The glass is slightly better in the Geovids but resolution in the Revic is as good. For an extreme range shooter and LR hunter the Revic in my opinion are superior with the beam selection, wind inputs and spot on Dope.I did test from a cold car into a hot environment they took 12 minutes to adjust to temperature change. However you can adjust the temperature within 6-8 seconds.I do carry the kestrel Elite everywhere to know the environmental conditions since its sencor is exposed,I also challenge myself guessing wind against the kestrel even going to the store.I carry the Revic in a non magnetic chest harness and use the Swarovski 15’s for long distance small animals like coues deer. The Revic crew and Gunwerks have paved the biggest path for us longrange hunters than anyone else so I will Always be a consumer of their products.Bro great reviews and thanks for what you bring to the hunting/shooting public.

    Great review! Thank you!
I bought a pair of Gen 1 Votex Fury’s at a good price for my wife and she REALLY likes them. They fit her hands very well and it’s very handy when we are hunting together and she has a range for me before I even have the rifle set up.
And I’m like you….conditions would have to be perfect before I’d try a shot on an animal over 500 yards and I just don’t need all the ballistic computing.
I too tried them for bow hunting and you’re correct….overkill! Much prefer a simple, small, one handed rangefinder!
….i may have to steal them from her if I ever draw a sheep tag lol

Thats how i justified my purchase. Also i dont have to mess with gettin out the range finder so the convenience is great and the combined weight is less that having 2 seperate devices. And swaro glass is amazing even though its not their top teir.

@@MindfulHunter I'm not a rich man, so I think the best part of the review is the recommendation portion where you talk about the right tools for the job and being honest with oneself. People need to be real about what they're trying to do. I appreciate the effort and understand it's tough. Gotta go see the Leupolds for myself Vs. the vortex just out of curiosity (glass quality). I've decided to be honest and save hundreds by going with the Razor 4000 GB LRF as a good solution to both rifle and bow hunting with the ability to apply a ballistics solution.

@@MindfulHunterI get it, wish I would known you were looking I would have sent you mine, got a new pair fresh from a warranty replacement lol.
It’s just upsetting because it’s the pair I’m currently running so I wanted to see how it stacked up.
My feedback, I have owned the 3000’s and 3k and the 6k’s I have now seem to be much better optical quality, LRF is much better as well. This might sound unbelievable but on my Colorado elk hunt this year I was spotting animals better with my 6k then I was with SLC 15’s. I simply stopped using the bigger bino’s because the 6ks worked so much better.
It does everything I need connects to my phone or Kestrel eye relief is great. Honestly I love the damn things…… with the exception of reliability.
I previously had the 3000’s and the LRF came out of alignment. Those were replaced with the 3k’s which I took golfing(yes I’m that guy) it lightly rained for 5 minutes and one tube was completely fogged up. This was also 1.5 months prior to my Colorado elk hunt, so I was freaking out. I sent them to Sig and they sent them back saying nothing was wrong. I take them out of the box and one tube is still completely fogged up. Call them again say a bunch of bad words and they are magically replaced 2 weeks prior to my hunt with the new Kilo 6k’s.
I get the 6k’s and their quality seems so much better and I am super happy going into my hunt. Well 4th day in the field the focus knob stops working and I can’t get them to focus past 10 feet.
Had to hike out and go buy cheap Leupolds and a separate LRF mono-tube just to finish my hunt.
While their customer service is not friendly at all they replaced them again and I have a new pair of 6k’s. But damn I don’t know if I trust them, but I have built my entire system around using them. Not really sure what to do at this point. Was wondering if you would address reliability in the review or if in your research you have heard of similar issues with the Sig’s.
