    The Lao government made a good choice to develop trains with China, hoping that this road can go further and connect Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. I am happy for Laos to see so many passengers on this train.

    You guys should come to China as soon as possible and experience the real Chinese high-speed rail. The trains on the China-Laos Railway are mostly called "bullet trains" or "DONG CHE" in Chinese.

      The Laos-China train "is not" a high-speed train.
      High-peed trains must have a maximum speed of 250 km/hr and beyond.
      The Laos-China" train is actually a medium-speed train and has a maximum speed of 160 km/hr and actually travel at a speed below that.

    • @redhongkong
      @redhongkong Год назад +1

      @@sacentery5767 depends where the train is operating, no HSR would operate at max speed if they are on high altitude region /mountain regions
      i think lao railway are 60-80% tunnels and bridge or somewhat close to that?
      its definitely not up to current HSR standard, but its much faster than "traditional green train" standard. i think tibet train operate around 160kph as well.
      maybe until they get next gen 250-350kph train, this is "their high speed train"

    The trains you took aren't the real high-speed trains. The trains are the export version of the CR200J EMU, with a maximum speed of 160 KM/H, the CR200Js are used as alternative for ordinary-speed trains in China. Some of the Renaissance (Fu Xing Hao) high-speed trains can reach a top speed of 350KM/H. By the way, the livery of the exported trains look much better than the domestic version. The domestic version of the CR200J has a nick name of 'trash bin'. Since the domestic version is dark green, similar to the colour of household trash bin in China.

    Do you recommend Laos for a woman travelling solo?

    • @mikeandashley
      @mikeandashley  10 месяцев назад

      I (Ashley) would. Even though I was usually with Mike, I never felt unsafe in the country and would sometimes walk around alone. I wouldn’t recommend riding a motorbike in Vientiane, though.
      Otherwise, use general safety precautions, and you should be fine. Have a safe (and fun) trip! 😊

    You are misled by the wrong technical information.
    The Laos-China train "is not" a high-speed train.
    High-peed trains must have a maximum speed of 250 km/hr and beyond.
    The Laos-China train is actually a medium-speed train and has a maximum speed of 160 km/hr and actually travel at a speed below that.
    Note that Thailand has already had in operation 2 lines of medium-speed train, with a maximum speed of 160 km/hr, namely, the Airport Rail Link and the Red Line. The Airport Rail Link has been in operation for more than ten years.

    The train of China colonization....

  • @Foh9L64di
    @Foh9L64di Год назад +1

    This is not a high speed train, just a normal speed. And it's constructed by China with the loan from China, which makes Laos in a bad debt situation. Moreover, the rail is a single track, which will be problematic if it gets more busy...the rain will have to wait for another train to pass by before it can resume the trip.
