    No doubt a great performer with unique sound and style!! I feel extremely lucky for our lessons in "Vandoren's house"! (1993-4).

    I’d be happy to sound half this good at age 67, incredible! More American saxos should be studying the artistic and pedagogical legacy of Deffayet.

      Not great music, but not bad either. A bit academic maybe. I've been told that Deffayet always welcomed a technical challenge.

      ​@@nothankyooo Ida Gotkovsky, the composer of the piece, is definitely NOT Brahms or Dvorak.
      The composition makes one claustrophobic, some weird take on Neo-Romanticism. Such weird music is plaguing modern saxophone repertoire.
