The 31 with the ceramic ball and Magnacut blade is a better knife IMHO. It is the one to keep!

Yep it’s been in my pocket the last couple days!

I have never seen an actual case of a Sebenza failing because somebody flicked it open. It’s never happened to me either, and I don’t know what part of the knife would even possibly break. I’d like to meet the person who started this rumor. Nobody says that about any other knife besides the Sebenza, at least that I’ve ever heard.

Yeah it doesn’t make sense. Maybe their tolerances are so tight the wear on the stop pin causes issues.

i commented something like this a long while ago on an instagram post, and Tim Reeve said there's no issue with flicking open Sebenzas

I own 5 large 21' s and i1 small. You will not harm the knife by flipping it open. From years of experience with these knives I noticed that if the blade is not centered after taking it apart that you did something wrong. It is important that the washers are perfectly centered and installed. I have seen the problem you have and corrected by taking it apart and putting it back together. You should be able to fully tighten the pivot without it effecting centering.

Is that on 31s also? Thank you for your perspective Frank!

I have no experience myself with the 31's but other reviewers have perfect centering after disassembly. I've taken my 21's apart several times and if the blade centering isn't perfect I take it apart again. There are videos showing how to take these knives apart without removing all of the screws. I don't subscribe to that theory.

That no flicking thing is nonsense. But usually they take a while to be flickable .

Great video! I regularly carry and use the large inkosi and s3benza inlay, both drop point. Great knives!

I agree 100%. You can get a load more information from the initiated fanboy but that comes with the biased viewpoint. That said the sebenza is the GOAT.

Small 31 insingo blade has been a pocket hog here lately. I have a minuscule collection in comparison to most in the “hobby” so I’m no expert but I like it. She cuts and the occasional knife nerd at work spots the clip and we have cool conversations.
I went insingo over drop point because the wedge makes for a great scraper and I’m not very nice to knives I carry.
My hard line is $450 but most of my knives are sub $200 and mostly used.

looks to me that it is just a blade shape preferance

Hi Sir, I once posted a mean gratuitous comment in the comment section of one of your video. That was stupid and I'd like to apologize for that. Have a great day, thank you for the cool vids.

Hey, thanks for the apology. To be honest, I usually find that type of comment enjoyable. But I appreciate you reaching out!
