Your welcome! Civics are great cars but once you make the switch to a gti, you'll see why so many people fall in love with euro cars. Gtis are great platforms to modify and can make significant power gains from a simple tune and downpipe
exactly! im like 10k deep in mods for my k24a2 ep3, but the car still feels so shitboxy lol. Fun, but these euro cars do just seem to be a lil bit of a different world. i think im making around 240hp right now, havent gone to a dyno so im really unsure. for the same cost of mods i'd probably be at 300hp in a GTI with 4doors and "luxury" feel lol. Question: have you ever owned a modded civic? or was your intro to the car scene a euro car ? @@teejaylc
I come from a K20A swapped EP3, and a ton of built hondas. I had an S2K and sold it for my current VW. I also have a background in Volks/Audi and every time I get back into a Euro - It shows you how easily power is made, and also you can have comfort, & luxury@@jackshayduran
I do. I have a resonator and muffler. I'm just saying the downpipe is catless. It's not a straight pipe. It's pretty even imo. A few differences I'll mention in another video
From personal experience...The exhaust smell will always be there, not only the cold start... and after pulls, you will notice it inside the car even with windows closed... you will get used to it, but your wife won't😅, if you are married, and your coworkers will always ask why you smell like you work in Garage and not in a hospital...😂
Yes catless sounds better if u are 14 years old.Catted downpipe makes the sound better and deeper. The problem is that cat downpipe is hella expensive thats why nobody wants it. Dyno charts shows no difference in catless vs catback 200 cell. Even some videos show more hp with catted downpipe.
I have a mk7 with a 1.4T (I know, weak), but I’ve been debating on removing my cat just because the car is so loud now even with one…which is a cts turbo 3”, catted, paired with a borla cat back. I’ve had gtis and they do sound so similar. So I think this proves I could easily get away just pulling the cat and adding a resonator. Did your butt dyno feel any difference? With the 1.4 I need all the extra ponies I can snag lol
Yeah it shouldn't be too different if you add a resonator. I'll talk a little more about the power part in my next video but for the most part, I felt a subtle difference in torque
thanks for making a comparison vid, been thinking of making the switch from a civic to a gti for a while now

I know for sure u gotta resonator on both. Mines was too much even with catted apr dp

How is it with a resonator?
Prefer the cateless, it's cheaper sounds better and has better performance, the only downside is the exhaust smell on cold start
Definitely! It's a trade-off for sure, but for a lot of people, it's worth it.
