This looks great! Congratulations! I'm a coffee roaster in Alaska, and just started a coffee and donut trailer this summer. It was more work than I ever imagined, but also so rewarding. I look forward to future videos.
Hello!!! thanks a lot for the video, I live in Colorado too!! could you please help with and advice about which generator is better for the coffee trailer! Thank you
First off congratulations on running your own business! Second, love your coffee camper, simple and cute! Curious who installed all your water tanks & lines for you? Also where are you located in MI.? My daughter lives in MI and has been wanting to open her own coffee trailer, so any info you could provide we would greatly appreciate it Thanks! We wish you a successful journey!
i see you keep the beans in the grinder at my barista classes i learned that you need to take out all the beans everyday after work, they say its part of the cleanning and it helps to mantain in a good shape the grinder :) Pura Vida
That is so so amazing!! Yah congratulations I just saw you posted on the fb group so I HAD to check to see if you posted on RUclips hahaha. Ohhh you have TikTok?!

Hi Hailey! we're in the process of building our trailer now and i've come to the plumbing and electrical. Any chance you can provide what equipment you use? Like your tankless water heater for your sinks? Pumps, etc? Thank you!
We have a bosch for our hot water heater (3 gallon). We use flo jets as a pump from our water jugs to our pitcher rinser and the pump for our espresso machine came with our La Marzocco. I will have to double check what pump we have for our sinks.
Does your grinder stay consistent with the weather temperature or do you have to constantly keep watch if the grind. Btw good job! It takes a lot to get started and flowing.
Weather is always an issue being in Michigan, and I do notice a difference from event to event, but I have found this grinder to remain fairly consistent throughout my events. I usually only have to dial in when I first open. Most of my events are 2-4 hours so there isn't too much of a temperature difference in that timeframe!
@@haileypolidori5824 Hailey, what brand grinder are you using because mine is not a cheap one but is temperamental according to temps. Also, I work 5 hours daily. Thank you for your responding.
Congratulations! I'm in Ohio and I have a bar trailer and I decided to turn it into a coffee bar as well, where did you get your expresso machine from?
For your drawers and cabinets you could always use child proof latches? But I’m also sure there are tons of camper type latches. That you for the view of your trailer, it’s amazing! It’s been my dream to own a coffee shop for over a decade and I’ve been looking into doing it mobile bc it’s more flexible and cheaper to start. How much all together did it cost? I was thinking I could start one for $15k but not sure if that is to low.
If you are handy you could absolutely work within that budget. It also depends what you want to offer. Keep in mind you can always expand your offerings - some trucks start with cold brew and drip so they don't have to invest in an espresso machine right away which is always an option.
@@haileypolidori5824 Thank you! I am handy and appreciate your response! That’s actually what I was thinking of doing, the cold brew, drip and hot chocolate. Maybe add lemonade in the summer.😊
I highly suggest finding a local roaster to partner with. They will be able to help you a ton along the way and can often give you a wholesale price which will be cheaper than buying coffee at the store.
I have never pulled a trailer and that is something that scares me but really wanted to do something similar for the past few years. Was it hard to learn how to pull a trailer, did you ever do it before doing this? I pulled a kid trailer on my bike and, my poor daughter, I hit a curb and it fell over. She was mostly fine, physicalLy, but to this day, 8 years later, won’t ride a bike, lol. So that is my biggest fear with a coffee trailer so was curious what your thoughts on that matter are. Lol! This is really cool and amazing, I hope it is a crazy huge success! 😊
Thank you so much! Before starting this business I had never pulled a trailer. It is a bit of a learning curve so make sure you have someone who knows what they are doing teach you how to properly set up/tow safely, but if you take it slow you'll get the hang of it. I suggest practicing parking and backing in/driving around in a parking lot first. You just need to be a bit more mindful of others on the road, because as you can imagine they don't love driving behind a trailer so expect to be cut off lol - the more you drive the easier it gets! Just go at your own pace :)
Awesome! Maybe I missed it but what are you using to generate power? that 2 grouphead LM machine uses a lot of wattage. Again, congrats! I'm in the planning stages of starting a espresso cart/coffee catering business of my own.
Good luck to you! It sure does pull a lot of power, but I couldn't imagine trying to run our markets on a single group so it has been worth it. We have to bring two generators and run them in parallel to keep everything running. It's a little extra work, but 100% worth it so people don't have long wait times!
@@cgirl905 Of course! There can be some regulations with traffic flow etc, but your local health department should be able to point you in the right direction or give you ideas on what type of places to reach out to for parking!
Can you make a video on equipment types and models, why you chose them, and pricing/financing options you chose??? ❤
Very good idea! I second that!!!

Wow a guy from Texas made a trailer called hazel coffee Co and it's my inspo
I think I have seen them on instagram. Great minds think alike I guess lol :)
you should get baby proofing cabinets locks for your drawers!
We have added those since this was recorded! Game changer!
You could try child’s locks on the drawers and cabinets!! They have the kind that you fasten so when you’re working you just leave them unfastened.
We added these & they have been super helpful!
i’d love to see you guys work an event, how you set up and close down! looks great!
I'm working on that video next! :)

We are based out of Ann Arbor! My husband did all of the plumbing, but it could absolutely be hired out to a plumber!

Congratulations! First video I’ve come across from you. All the best 😁🫶
Hi! I love your trailer! Where did you get your fly fan at? Link would be amazing :) :) :)
We got ours on amazon - it is called a wind guard! You'll want to find one that covers your entire window length for it to work correctly :)

Congrats and Nice job!! You can always use Baby locks for cabinets…
I finally got some in the trailer and they work great :)

Looks so pretty inside! do you make your cold brew on the truck or do you have akitchen off site that you make all your prep on?
I use my roasters space for prep :)
Based on your county you might have different options for where you can prep!

We bought it used on ebay (make sure it's from a reputable tech if you do)

Hey quick question what’s the name of the conditioner on the window that stops bugs from coming in? Congratulations btw!
It’s a wind curtain!
What did you use to frame on your concession window? Is it wood? So cute!
We used shiplap! Thank you!
What size is your trailer? And what espresso machine do you have?
I have a la marzocco linea AV - it is a 220v so powering the trailer takes a large generator, but I love it so far. The trailer is 14ft!
Looks great!
Hello, if you don't mind to ask you, how much do they take to open some like this to start the all operation?
Check out my Hazel Ep. 4 video! I break down all of the start up costs :)
Where do you find the coffee you sale? Can you use coffe bought from a store or do you need to source it from a special retailer?
I highly suggest finding a local roaster to partner with. They will be able to help you a ton along the way and can often give you a wholesale price which will be cheaper than buying coffee at the store.

I have soooo many questions!

What was the White Grinder you have in the video?
It is an Anfim Scody II :)
Is your trailer walk up only, or can they drive up?
We only use our trailer for walk up. You would definitely have to check with your county - some will only allow drive throughs in certain zones.
Oh I didn’t even think about that. I’m in WA now, but planning on doing the trailer in TN. I’ll have to look into that! Thank you!
@@cgirl905 Of course! There can be some regulations with traffic flow etc, but your local health department should be able to point you in the right direction or give you ideas on what type of places to reach out to for parking!
Thank you so much! I will definitely reach out to them and find out some guidelines. Thank you again!
How many feet is your trailer?
It is 12ft long
How much was window
It was custom built (cut out and framed with metal), and included in the price of our buildout so I don't have an exact number on that piece.
Use RV latches … very cheap.
