Fire Captain Maria "Peggy" Diaz shares her entire routine-including her fitness and wellness practices while pulling a 24 hour shift at the firehouse. She explains how wearing very little skincare products helps protect her while wearing equipment and why getting regular acupuncture keeps her mentally and physically prepared. Peggy shares her experience as the first Latina hired as a city firefighter and the types of calls she has answered in her 20 years on the job. She also takes us on a firehouse grocery run with a coworker as well as gives us a peek inside the garage gym where her and other firefighters workout together.

Right on Maria. I worked for a large department in Colorado as a firefighter paramedic. I loved the job but my department was not very diverse. I was the only black female. We worked a 48-72 schedule also. I am now medically retired but I do miss it. I personally know how demanding the job is. You go capt.! Love this series. 👍🏽

Always love seeing female Fire Captains. The firefighting profession is still so male dominated and it really inspires me to see a woman in charge. That’s my goal to be a fire captain 👩🏾✈️

I love this! I am currently studying Firefighter science after going to university for a total different degree and it’s great to see a strong, lovely, beautiful woman who is in a male dominated field who ALSO enjoys looking feminine off the job. I let my young son watch this video, he's obsessed with firefighters and fire trucks. I want him to see it's not just "fire man" and "police man", women are out here doing it, too!
