When the Graf Zeppelin LZ127 visited London in the 1930s, my old Dad, a young RAF cadet at the time, was roped in as part of the ground crew.

I love how old "Airships" were literally set up inside and operated very much like ocean liners of the day. they literally treated them as ships of the air.
I think this is now my favorite youtube channel. I fast forwarded to where I though you'd be closer to the top of your climb and it was at that moment that you were, in fact, on the ground.

Am I the only one who thought about the scene in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade when Indy tosses Herr Vogel overboard while AvAngel was on the observation deck? Great review. It seems like it will be fun but I think I'll wait for a few updates first as it seems still flawed in many ways and feels like it was rushed to get out.

The Germans did attempt to use the Graf Zeppelin II in the ELINT role in 1939 to try and gather information about RAF radars. However, not only did they search on the wrong frequencies, the RAF shut down radar stations as the Graf Zeppelin II approached. So, the mission failed utterly.
It is a lot, the crew who develop this add on, did a great job, still a lot to complete, several version will come.
At 17:15 it becomes a _Led Zeppelin_

3:19 Well, I wouldn't exactly call it slow. The top speed was around 80mph and cruised at 78, which is faster than any highway where I live (US).
Compared to an ocean liner of the time, which could cross the Atlantic in about a week, it was blazingly fast but would be an absolute crawler compared to a jet.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind the slower speed since up until that (ahem) tragic incident in New Jersey, it was quite luxurious.
Honestly, I wonder what things would be like today had the accident never happened would jets make the airship obsolete, or would people go on trips in airships like they go on cruises.
Haha, hope you give it a go again. Would love to see a video with it being a bit less chaotic because it is quite satisfying to fly when it’s all going well.

Main thing is to fly. And it seems that there's a lack of that fuction. Plus, it looks super complicated and extremely heavy in terms of performance.

I may have asked you this before. What kind of software(IF it is) are you using to go around the airship? I ask because,I wish to reduce the hideous clicking sounds in my videos as much as possible.

What system set up do you have? Red Wing has been very careful to let people know you need a powerful system to run the Zeppelin.

Hi - the recommendation spec is insane.
My card is GTX 1080 , and runs fine, even pmdg dc6 and 737, justflight vulcan, with track ir.
I will upgrade to RTX 2080 - but still far off recommended.
What happens with gtx1080? CTD, out of memory, FPS not playable?
Probably, the 1080 gets Lakehursted.

If it's flying upside-down (needless to say, the real Hindenburg could not), I'm guessing it's still in beta... but they're charging $30 for it. I would have been willing to pay that for a finished aircraft, but not in this state. I'll give it a few months and see if it's been fixed.
It’s out of beta they only had a small beta team. I haven’t seen anyone report it rolling over like that before in the Discord, and to be fair she was crashing it and it was bouncing it off the terrain. There are bugs though, and the dev has a patch in the works to fix some of the more common ones.
In the half dozen flights I’ve done so far it has worked quite well I’ve only had one or two bugs but nothing show stopping, and is nice and different to fly.

Most "voluminous" aircraft addon to date, definitely.
Most "massive" is probably the An-225 ;) ... from wiki it looks like typical takeoff weight for the Hindenburg-class zeppelin was ~475K lbs, while empty weight for the Mriya was around 628K lbs.
Surely an opportunity for a new Virtual Airline?

Always wanted to have a Zep flight sim and apparently, I finally got the chance to get a decent one after all those decades when I first tried flying one in Dawn of Aces around 1999-2000ish and only seeing utterly simplified crap behaving like "bus meets plane" since.
this ran like arse on my computer, which is a pity because the interior is fantastic to walk around in. I don't think my video card is letting me down (3080ti) so I dunno. Great mod though

Can someone please give me tips on how to make this not crash the game? I want to do kind flights but this things crashes my system every time. I have an I9 with 32gb of ram and a 4090.
If you're getting crash to desktop, try shutting off AI traffic and multiplayer. I found that getting into any area with traffic caused CTD without fail. Without other traffic it behaves, at least for me.
CTD is definitely not normal once the flight has started.
If you scrape the mountain tops will it explode into a ball of flames 🔥 like the Hindenburg? 😅

@@AvAngel Oh no absolutely not. But I sometimes whish, particularly with some of the German warbirds and now this, that there was a little more from the developers about who built these planes (airships), and why. I think it's important to remember that even though these are really cool machines, they were built to extoll a regime of unspeakable horror. One thing I really like about this build is that it clearly meant to document a piece of history and not just be a play thing. Makes me feel less guilty about enjoying it.
This manual has about half of its 140 pages on history, its rather complete actually :) I just personally feel we dont need the iconography anymore to remember.
Also, Asobo wouldn’t let it on the Marketplace if it had the Angry Cross, which is certainly fair enough.
Yet the Rising Sun is fine, despite it having the same sort of connotations as the Angry Cross in Asia.
Either way looks good with the regular flag.
Also, if this were a real 30s design, I'd hate to find out what happened to the guy who picked out the carpet!
