I am now completing 3 year diploma in agriculture but I want to switch myself to finance related sector in Bachelor.
- so, is ACCA equivalent to Bachelor degree in Nepal or not?
- If not, which academic bachelor degree with ACCA is relevant to study?
- Can i enroll in any finance or business related academic masters program after taking ACCA membership?
As an ACCA student myself about to complete my fundamental papers. Here are my answers to your questions. Hope this helps.
Answer to your first question. Yes, once you complete your 9 fundamental papers (F1-F9) with Ethics and Professionalism. You’re part-qualified which is equivalent to a Bachelors degree.
In academics, you can search for BSc. Accounting and Finance but make sure that they align with ACCA module for you to claim exemptions and make sure that you score 50 or above in all your subjects because that’s the pass marks for ACCA anything below that wouldn’t work. There are probabilities that you won’t get exemptions in Corporate and Business Law (F4) and Taxation (F6) and you’ll have to give separate exams because it may not match with the UK Laws and HMRC (UK Tax Administration) regulations. Unless it’s a global module. I’m not much sure about it so I will let it be.
Answer to your third question, Yes you can, once you complete your full ACCA qualification (Fundamental papers and Professional papers) with membership. It’s already equivalent to master’s degree. If you want, you can still pursue other qualification after you ACCA completion. My best suggestion would be an MBA (Finance) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). If you’re looking for a career in finance.
Pursuing ACCA is the best thing in my opinion because as an accountants, you can choose between accounting or finance career at any point of the life.
