NOTE: One feature I didn't pick up in the video is the hip joint, the joint can be extended, so that the legs can swing up more than 90 degrees. Thank you.
I received my Roboute yesterday and the left backpack "wing" was also bent inwards like yours ... so I just dipped the wings in hot water (as with 90% of figures I get) & voila it popped itself back into position (or just move it back while hot). The packing pushes that "wing" in - I agree we shouldn't have to do this with expensive toys, but thems the breaks. My copy is good otherwise, so far. I think it is impressive and well detailed & I have so far over 100+ of these JT WH40K figs. I do think their pricing is high for what they are, but a chunk is the GW licencing fee, and I waited 35 yrs for WH40K action figures, so am just thankful they exist at all.
If it’s the packaging doing it that is pretty impossible for them to know. I imagine once the figures go in they don’t pull any out after long term storage in changing temperatures to test the packaging
Unfortunately the wings is not the only issue, the halo is installed at an angle and the whole wing thingy is also installed in angle. That is why I have to dismantle it, (technically speaking breaking it) as shown in my shorts...
Totally agreed on QC issues, I got so many of it and seem a lot on reviews. But apologist is like: repaint this, hairdryer that, just put some stuffing in the loosen socket, etc. Like I should slice my ordered pizza and remove bad toppings myself, so ridiculous.
Opened mine last night, no issues with backpack or waste falling off, but my sword arm falls off very easily. Had a similar issue with a standard marine and his leg...annoying for such expensive figures. Great review.
got mine a few days ago and i think its one of the best figures from joytoy so far, worth the money if you ask me. the smaller ones often feel like a cash grab to me.
Absolutely agree with you. Roboute Gulliman is my second toy after Varro Tigurius. The torse is loose and i have to use Pva glue to make my torse and bottom part stay together. Not only this one but my future one as brother Brother Breathen of Black Templar and Grand master Voldus. All have the same issue. Either it too loose. The hand to carry weapon alway fell down. Pva glue is my only solution.
A reissue of this guy is on preorder right now, I'm hoping they fix the quality control issues with it. He's a beautiful figure but not worth the price if he's gonna fall apart and have warped pieces.
Actually the torso is not the best, but regarding the wings of the backpack, a blow of the hairdryer is enough, I solved it like this, a little patience and it becomes perfect, same problem with Lion, 2 of the 4 heads could not be inserted, always hairdryer and then I left them inserted for a couple of days, the material is PVC, very malleable and sensitive to heat.
The back of it is made from PVC, so it pretty much bends due to heat. You can bend that back with a hairdryer. But, the hip joint isn't recoverable. I'd send that back if I was you.
Thanks for watching the video! I still suggest you to watch other reviews on YT before making your final decision. All of them gave this figure 10/10.. except me...
Yes, the wings can be fixed as per your recommendation, but the whole wing thingy and halo need to be dismantled because they are installed in an angle. Thanks for watching the video!
I guess this is just quality control problem. There are some reviews I saw that it was fine, and some was just the left arms that is loose. I’m not sure but hey, every box is a gamble haha!
Personally I think the figure is pretty good in hand. I was lucky enough not to have any QC issues besides having to blow dry the backpack. The articulation is better than most space marines and the joints are tight enough to where I wouldn’t be worried about it falling. I think this guy could have used some weathering as he does look a bit too clean. My only real issue is the price. Honestly, QC issues and the price point of most figures are what’s holding JoyToy back. The fact that they are asking $80 even on cheaper sites for a tech marine is pretty crazy. I also don’t see any bundled sets anymore. Buying a squad of four for a discount is what motivated me to buy more of these figures. I honestly wish JoyToy would pump the brakes a bit and release these figures in an acceptable state. These are definitely not bad figures and it seems they have been improving with the overall designs, but they should definitely improve their QC and make them cheaper.
Another problem is that no other company is doing this vast array of Warhammer figures. Bandai made like 5 figures that make JoyToy look like a good deal in comparison while the McFarlane figures have no paint and can barley move.
It's really disappointing, to be honest. I haven't been able to shake off my frustration since the review. Since I stop buying expensive Joytoy figures because of that.
bang on with the skull mechanicus the armour was built by arch magos Belisarius cawl a more radical tech priest although it was something he made it of his own initiative without the knowledge or over sight of the wider mechanicus and probably has some extreme tech heresy going on with it
Actually in China,if you took early offer on TikTok official, you get this for only $80. Why? Cause I have a Chinese address and bought 7 of this😂 The fact is Chinese fans received this figure last month and also complained and suffered from this poor quality check issue and believe the figure is not worthy even for the early offer price. I opened 1/7 of my purchased ones. It looks fine, but I’m really afraid the rest 6 have quality problems. Hoping Bandai or other brands can give us a bigger and better choice. But before that, I pray for getting an hmo Guilliman statue.
Ah good thing I passed on Gman. Having seen his art on JoyToy's site already shown how little his articulations would be. He's just a centerpiece with little dynamism. 🤷♂
I am very on the fence here. I am glad for your no non sense review. The price is to high and I rather get other marines or non 40k stuff that I want. Lawl moon cake box reference.

This Just give me horrible flashbacks.I hot water all my joy toy figures before I start Posing them.😏I'm so paranoid I even put my marvel legends in hot water too.😳
I have about 20 of JoyToy's 40K line, had the chance to pick this up for US$70 (less than 2/3 of what you paid) on AliExpress, but I still chose to pass. When other Chinese companies, like ZD Toys, are able to put out much cheaper figures at a larger scale (1/10), with better paint, and an arguably more expensive license (Marvel), the value of JoyToy just seems so low. Especially recently, when they are clearly doing some cost-cutting measures, like removing recess shading and reusing unhelmeted head sculpts. I'm still a fan of their figures - Helbrecht is in the mail and I just pre-ordered Lazarus, but I'm definitely unhappy about the price/value ratio.
Yes.. I guess the license fee is expensive... GW is a listed company after all... so the cost for Joytoy to acquire the license should not be cheap....

I totally agree with you... the joints in my Joytoy figures that I purchased a year ago started getting loose.. The plastic quality as compared to Japanese action-figures is substandard.. I collect Diaclone and they are expensive, but now many Joytoy figures are in similar price range.. I should purchase less JY and get more Diaclone instead. Diaclone is the best collector toy in my opinion.

I think $30 is a bit extreme, considering McFarlane, arguably the best value company currently, wouldn't even be able to do this for $30, but look what he was able to do for $40 with Kickstarter Spawn! It's been a few years, so add in $10 for inflation and GW licensing and this guy should be $50. Instead, $50 only gets you a regular GI Joe-size Space Marine, not even a Terminator!
@@thenostalgiabusiness If your shopping on Aliexpress, terminators are going for ~$30 and regular grunts are ~$20. I agree, that this guy is overpriced so even though I have ~35 JT Ultramarines already I won't be getting this one. Although, I think you guys under-estimating the costs on his one since the licensing will likely be significantly higher. An unpainted, unassembled Roboute from GW costs $70 more then GW's entire starter set, with paint, tools, scenery and 16 models. Roboute just costs more from GW. Also everything on this one is a unique mold that can not be re-used unlike other sets. Without the ability to repaint the mold, it just ends up costing more.
@@rory7604 Good point, the GW tax is probably insane. If you look at it from that perspective, compared to unassembled, unpainted GW models, these are a steal, but only because everything from GW is so overpriced.
I understand the frustration. JT does have some quality control issues as of late as I just received my ultramarines honor guard and the champion's leg joint is completely disconnected to the point I have to repair it myself. Not something I thought I had to do for a figure retailing for $60. My pano TAC was squeezed into it's box so had multiple paint damage. Other figures seem to have minor things here and there, and for the price you're paying, you would expect better. Overall I'm just happy we're getting these figures though and the overall aesthetics are still good.
