    Oh wow, that was very helpful.
    I've just received Guilliman through the Imperium subscription and I've been trying to think how best to paint him. This video has helped me greatly and Caledor Sky was one of the first paints I brought when the new range came out but I've hardly used it, pleased to report it's still good, though a little lumpy, but I really like how it helps the model stand out from all the other blue marines in the army. Will certainly consider using it on my own, though I am thinking of getting all that gold and silver out the way first then picking out the blue armour after.

    Hi there, first of all thank you very much for your tutorials and helpfull vidéos. I have a big noob question ( since i m a begginer it does makes sense though ) how do you cover mistakes when you do gold trims ? Since contrast paint acts as an ink and is not opaque, can you undo mistakes by using maccrage blue for example ? Thank you very much

    • @MediocreHobbies
      @MediocreHobbies  Месяц назад +1

      Hey glad the videos are helping! The process of painting this guy is done in a specific way that’s easier to cover up mistakes! You can be messy with the first coat of contrast, more careful with the gold and cover up mistakes when you start working on the blue stages! The gold easily covers the blue contrast, then the next stages of blue will cover the gold well enough. Does that make sense?

    • @sgregzor

      Two different rattle/spray cans are used-one full solid coat of black, and a lighter coat of grey seer sprayed from above to add light/dark areas. The lighter coating of grey seer adds a small amount of grit(too small for the eye to see) from to give the contrast paint a better surface to cling too. Contrast paints don’t work well on black primers, the colours won’t show up well.
      Here’s a short showing the process, if you have any other questions please let me know!

      It’s a very well known character so people usually paint him as described in lore, you can paint yours however you like though!

    Your ironbreaker kinda ruined the cool contrast of it all. The colors are very in line w warhammer colors and art shame u made it look realistic but still cool
