I lived in CA and Northern VA, in Arlington. I’m sorry, I moved back to CA because the quality of life is much better. Yes, CA is more expensive, but it is a better state to live in, at least for me.
It's expensive here but it's still the best state and you will NOT find weather like you do here. Big cities in Virginia will be the same as any other city, Sense of community is better in smaller towns in general and same with Virginia.
It’s expensive for a reason! Just got back from San Diego and it was amazing! There’s ups and downs to everything though it all depends on your preferences.
