One of the best ghazals ever sung by Ghulam Ali Khan sahab, the emotion, the composition, the lyrics, everything gels together so beautifully. Definitely one of my favourites!

The poet is Syed Razi Tirmizi. Ghulam Ali sang this Ghazal first in late 70's. I heard him sing this Ghazal in 1979 at a friend's home in Lahore. He was becoming popular at that time and had not yet forgotten his benefactor late Mr. Aijaz Khan who helped him get a chance in Radio Pakistan in early 70's. Unfortunately he stated that he does not remember anyone by that name when I met him in Atlanta few years ago. "Rang Dikhlata hey Aasman keyse keyse".

My favourite ghazal singer, comparable to ustad Mehdi Hassan. Very exciting singer. Listen to GA jee every day. No words to show my gratitude to GA for years of enjoyment listening to him. Just a class above the rest ❤❤
@TheUma2000 If I say that this is the best ghazal ever sung by Ghulam Ali, it may be just right. Look at the great poetry in all couplets and how gently, accurately, soberly and beautifully GA has rendered each word with greatest skill, emphasizing the meaning and maintaining the spirit and mood of all syllables. His skills are at an exciting peak. I think for the serious music and poetry lovers it is the biggest treat listening to this ghazal. (cont.)
@dramjadparvez @TheUma2000 @chamogaa @sqhzaidi - Great to see all your discussions. In fact, I uploaded this when I was discussing with some of my friends about my absolute favorite of Ghulam Ali Sahab's ghazals. The very best rendition - and this one came to my mind. Glad all of you like it.
A few people know that actually it is a ' na'at- e- Rasul Sa'alum ' written by Syed Razi Tirimzi , a well known poet and broadcaster of his time . His contamporary critic and broadcaster , Hameed Nasim discussed it under the tradition of Urdu na'at , in his collection of critical essays . Syed Razi chose the genere of ghazal for this na'at . Firstly this was recorded in the CPO , Radio Pakistan , Lahore Station . The present recording is of a live show where our music maestro unlike radio recording couldn't maintain his grip over the notes . There is considerable difference of quality of ' غزل گائیکی ' between radio station recording and live show . Overall , it is one of the best performances of Ghulam Ali .
I don’t see how one would classify it as a naat. Also, please share the radio Pakistan version. I would love to hear that too. We will all appreciate it.

Overlooking a few flows here and there in some of his 'masterpieces', G Ali is certainly great. His singing has reached hearts across the globe. G Ali is one of those Legends whose melodious voice will remain omnipresent through time. He is God's gift to ghazal lovers, now and always.
@@aabhah Well, making mistakes and being on your last legs to point out others' mistakes are polar different! Your comments could make one easily feel that you are the latter! And guess what, it feels great to give people the taste of their own medicine. Btw, I assume, you meant 'overlook' and not 'oversee'. Also, interestingly enough, it's still 'flow' up there. Anyway, just a little suggestion, instead of finding flaws in others, just enjoy the thing that you might not be able to do even in a million years! Hope it helps, Thanks!
Aptly described. In my view this is one of his best ghazals, but unfortunately has not gained the same popularity as his other ghazals. It might have to do possibly with the lyrics that do not sit easy on the tongue, and carrying the tune is no easy task. But as far as the emotive content of the music goes, it is up there with the best.
Beautifully put. Once something reaches beyond excellence, it no longer appeals to the masses. This ghazal has made a 360 degree turn where it's now only celebrated by a selective audience possessing a keen ear and a deep love for good literature.
