- It's Obon and Japanese summer festival season! Please enjoy this how to make Yakisoba video in honor of it simply being summer time and we wanted a dish to represent that. Having visited Japan numerous times during the summer, one of my fondest memories is attending the Japanese Matsuri festivals and eating all of the delicious street food. One of foods I remember enjoying is Yakisoba, Japanese stir-fry noodles!
Yakisoba Recipe (Servings 2-3)
2 C. Chinese cabbage
1 small onion
1-2 carrots
3 shiitake mushrooms
1 stalk green onions/scallions
1/2 lb pork loin or pork belly
2 pkg Yakisoba noodles
(Use ingredients to your liking. If you are someone that prefers more vegetables to meat, make sure to add in more vegetables. And vice versa)
Sauce:
2 tsp brown sugar
4 tsp oyster sauce
4 tsp ketchup
4 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Optional- add soysauce to taste
Toppings (optional)
dried green seaweed- aonori
pickled red ginger
Thank you so much for all your support! Please remember to like this video and subscribe!
Till the next one,

Your yakisoba is delicious! Thank you for sharing your recipe.
Thank you so much! Glad it turned out well!
I will have to try this recipe, cause I love noodles 🍜. My favorite at the bon dance was always the chow fun.
Thanks, Laurie! Let me know how it turns out!
Thank you to Reid for cooking and for sharing his recipe...noodles are always a welcome and comforting dish to partake, definitely a crowd pleaser! Throughout the years, I've also enjoyed this festival and all that surrounded the occasion. The dancing and lively festivities make the event one to look forward to. Can't pinpoint just one fave food but yakitori and takoyaki, along with fresh strawberry shortcake, are my nostalgic picks. ✨🌺✨
Thank you for your comment! Love all the foods that you mentioned! Stay tuned for next week's video... we will be sharing one of your favs! :)
Bummed about two canceled Oki festivals! I’m gonna make this.
Looks good Reid wish I could taste it’s ono🌺
This was a delicious recipe that he had! So ono!
Thanks for this video! Wondered what that yummy taste was, it's the worcheshire sauce, so japanese
Thank you, Gina!
Big mahalos for a Ono yakisoba stir fry! Loved the sauce, I too had add a little bit more brown sugar.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Chili rice or somen salad are my favorites! My wife likes the chirashi and Teri chicken! When in Hawaii you have to add kintoki and andagi!
I've never had kintoki! I love chirashi too!
Thank you, Reid…that video made me so hungry for yakisoba. That will probably be on my menu sometime this next week. We had Thanksgiving yesterday, so yakisoba will be a welcome change from holiday food.
Hi Donna! Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video and hope your yakiniku turned out great!
I don't like alot of sauce on my food either. Can't wait to try this recipe. Thanks for sharing!
Let me know how it turns out! Thanks, Kanani!
I will be trying it, thank you! I was stationed in Okinawa for over 3 years. Yaki soba and grilled octopus was a must during the festivals.
Hi Brian! Awesome! Let me know how it turns out. And yes, I agree!
Love your cooking vlogs 😍
Thank you, Peaches!
Excellent recipe! I actually had all the ingredients except the pork, so I used chicken instead. The sauce is perfect and I added furikake to top it off. Thank you so much for sharing. Very generous of you folks!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. And using chicken is good too!
Looked so good ! Thanks ! 🍜
Thanks, Kathy!
