Watched her qualify for the 2020 Olympics in February finishing second in the Marathon trials. Her first ever Marathon. The girl has guts.

This was a great race to watch. Really takes me back to when I ran. Loved the indoor 3k.

Seems hectic. Why is there so many people warming up in lane 2? Then hundreds of people crossing lane 1. I would be distracted

I can't tell if she slowed down at the end or was just dead tired

Who else read the title wrong and thought this was a 3000m hurdles race?

Makes me proud to be a ND grad! And her marathon qualification was nuts.

The fact that Eliud Kipchoge can run this pace 42 times in a row, just amazed with his ability. Crazy.

Like the race but still cannot understand the rabbit thing. Please tell me why, as much as they train, they can't run their own race?

    • @math_the_why_behind

I think rabbits are paid to pace in some races (there are no rabbits in the Olympics, for example, I think). I think they might have their own races also. It is also possible that they continue on running the race they were supposed to be just a rabbit; their only job is to at least pace for so long.

National XC champion in high school, 12 state titles, multiple NCAA championships, and now one of the best marathon runners in the world. Perhaps you could learn something from how she trains rather than hyper-focusing on some tiny flaw you see in her arm movement.

Dozens of jerks running right at her in the next lane on the backstretch distracted her, cost her time. Amateur night.

way 2 bad these young runners are wasting their youngness on these worthless obscure distances..they should be goin 4 the 1500-mile..then 5-k!!

This happens to be a common indoor event. Outdoor season focuses more on those other great events.

What's wasted? None of these athletes are 3000m specialists. It was an event at this competition, so they competed in it. Simple.

she reaches her peak at 20s, ...all downhill ..i don't mean in running, at life. I sucked as a runner--2.40 marathoner...now a success at 50

Kind of looks ridiculous to see all those white child-bearing thighs trotting around the track. No doubt that's an unpolitically correct comment lol.
