I'm not sure if that's what you meant to imply in the earlier part of your video when you mention 'if you have enough lives, you'll respawn in 25 seconds,' but you have an infinite number of lives as long as the whole team doesn't wipe. That means someone staying extremely far away from the hill is a valid survival tactic. 3: Some of the armor abilities can be used an infinite number of times, and some of them can not be, and this sometimes changes depending on the map you are playing.
Next to Campaign, Firefight is probably my favorite game mode! I'm glad that it's finally here and plays really well! I like playing on the Normal difficulty more then the Heroic mode so I'm not just constantly sweating against those Red Hunters 😅 Now with everything that's in Infinite, if 343 can drop the next Halo game with ALL of this content on day 1, and it will be a massive success!
"I don't think MCC mode does it justice because all it takes is one bad player to take your lives down to 0" meaning the next time you die, the game is over, even if that's your first time dying Which is exactly what happens if a surprise wave of golden elites comes in and wipes your team only once.
Here's a tip: Shock weapons are great for crowd control. You can shoot weapons on the floor, objective markers, and weapon pads to chain lightning between enemies.
@@justinnyugen7015Shielded AI in general resist shock and needles soon unless you throw a dynamo, and since elites have the strongest shields in the game they will not be easily stunned
@@justinnyugen7015 Yeah, shock damage seems to suck against shields, but can still stun elites if you shoot metal objects. The enemy density is pretty crazy in firefight, so it helps a lot more than in campaign.
4:56 While this HUD is definitely on the busier side for Halo standards, it just makes me glad to know that this is the worst of it and that it's nowhere near something like Apex Legends or a modern COD.
Imagine a fire fight koth on a map designed where the hills progress through different areas of the map, like a structured campaign map. It would flow pretty well I think
Shoutout to Pierre Hintze for fixing MCC and leading the charge on Infinite. Firefight Heroic is so fun, especially when you get the Repulser and pankake or Mind the Gap everything >>>>>>>
"Downed teammate data gets lost in the noise." I agree, but I have no idea how this could be fixed without just making it make more noise. Maybe a pulsing icon?
4:56 you can always check down right below your team's progress bar the 4 dots representing your teammates to check if there's somebody down, and also when someone dies there's an audio cue
I personally thought Reach firefight was ok, but it always felt meaningless. I felt like I was running around the map aimlessly most the time. But I really like having these objectives in KOTH, gives the mode more purpose. Though I agree I wish the downed players were more noticeable. I was being careless and died without even realising all the other players were down, and I lost the match.
The biggest problem I have is that it isn't made to play solo or duo, especially with solo. The lack of lives means that a couple mistakes and you are back into the long loading screen to restart. Having only a grapple hook to start doesn't help when you are forced to stay inside a small area and only becomes useful for staggering jackals. Leaving the hill to get weapons or a useful equipment means time you have to make up and a whole hill full of enemies to clear out. With only 2 people reviving is rarely an option because if they die it is game over. Also, I know forge is a thing now and you can do almost anything with it, but I'd rather not learn Infinite's forge just to create a firefight mode. Until they release an official classic firefight I'm gonna just play the old firefights or another game entirely.
I have been thoroughly enjoying the custom Firefight and campaign mission offerings over the past month over in the Customs Browser and I’ve never been happier to full team wipe to the Brute brother bosses in official Firefight lol. I think the PvE shows off Infinite’s rock solid foundations better than any other mode available right now, especially with the revised netcode which I’ve only seen positive things to say on so far.
basically Halo infinite being free to play is expensive and if they don't make enough money, then all dev work comes to a stop, and because halo infinite doesn't have a high player count I doubt if it's really making a profit at all, just look at all the free stuff we have been given, you wouldn't get anything free from other games and not only that but you can complete all old battle passes. they are a buisness, they need money and yes people didnt ask for free 2 play but without free 2 play we wouldnt get cool shit after launch. most games before f2p never changed or updated and only got new stuff when it was like a DLC Map Pack for 60$ or something which is bad because it split the community up, I remember when halo 3 had theyre mythic Mappack my friends didnt buy it so I couldnt play with them on the new maps
Whats really refreshing is how fast these matches are. Taking the Halo 5 route with how to handle it and giving a reasonable ending to the match without the less natural ai difficult.
I would love a firefight mode that has the base building of dominion from Halo 4. Like after every wave, your team can use point to make a defense base and plot some turrets, spawn weapons, vehicles or even call in some friendly ai support! Would also love if some more of the community made firefight specific maps get into match matching. I would prefer that over the reuse of smaller arena maps. Overall I’m having a blast with this mode!
3:46 honestly I miss REQ pack acquisitions and the suuuper wide variety of weapons. I loved saving up my gear for a good instance. Warzone Firefight is still the most fun I’ve had in Halo I think
been having a lot of fun! The spawns are a bit claustrophobic in King of The Hill on certain maps (Behemoth and House of Reckoning), so I hope there'll be a more classic variant where you hunker down in your main base and enemies get dropped off further, or have strongholds around main sections of your base Otherwise, there are some improvement ideas: - Reviving can be annoying af if the person dies in a warthog or on a pile of weapons. You'll likely swap your weapons or mount a turret by mistake and both end up dying. - Weapons despawn too quick (but this has been a problem in classic MCC firefight as well). If i am forced to respawn on my own, all my shit is gone - Scoreboard actually keeping track of kills. Right now its only assists, revives, deaths. Kills show up as 0 - Vallaheim map doesn't have any kinetic ammo crates - Zanzibar remake has an out of map section you can get stuck on (the cliff by the umbrella). I got knocked in there by a gravity hammering teammate while trying to refill ammo - BTB influence for bigger maps (pelican dropping in tanks, loot caves)
I concur, some maps that are open and so have phantom spawns like Valhalla... you just get your stuff rocked because of its cannons and if there's multiple of them... well it's heavy molten metal at that point.
@@CommissarChaotic Vallaheim probably has the worst cover in the open Hill areas. Easy to get surrounded since phantoms drop right on top of you and enemies spawn in your flank routes. Plus there's no ammo crates unllke the other maps in rotation
After the refueled playlists SBMM it’s nice to finally play a new mode that doesn’t demand high efficiency. Firefight KOTH is a refreshing challenge I can enjoy for hours on end. Hope we get more modes added to offer more fun variety in the future. W update, I’m happy firefights finally here
Also something i totally forgot the AI could do is use weapon racks. I literally watched an elite run up to a hydra i was going to grab and yoink it from me. Rude.
I Love te idea of objectives on Firefight for the sake of keeping players together, i hope they add stockpile and a Koth variant where the hill moves forward as you capture it and the victory condition is taking the hill from point A to B (yes, basically payload)
@LateNightHalo dude imagine pve stockpile on Waterworks or Scarr where you gotta plant the power seeds on the tower on the middle of each map filled with Banished troops or escorting an automated Warthog or Mamoth through the map protecting it from Banished hordes trying to destroy it while picking up Regen Fields to heal it along the way... Maybe having different objectives for each round on a single match... man... the potential...
I really like this idea! Hopefully it gets implemented or you/someone makes it in Forge soon. I agree, Obj > running off and disbanding or somebody just camping@@gustavosimoes1995
You do you. Personally I hate it and it has killed the mode for me with the forcing of objectives. If it was an option, it would be great. The fact that it isn't and classic firefight has been abandoned destroys my want to play it. I'll just stick to MCC, has better content and better gameplay than anything Infinite will ever offer at this point.
Just played two matches and i love it! Not only did they spice it up with king of the hill but the mini bosses are the cherry on top. As a halo and destiny fan this version of fire fight really reminds of the blind well only with multiple maps, better bosses and it feels way more structured feels awesome! And theres always room later on for a classic firefight experience with loadouts after all we didnt think we'd be getting anything of substance before season 5. Now look, we have custom games with forgeable a.i, flood inspired armor sets, a halo 3 map playlist, top rank reward of which is master chiefs freakin campaign armor and now firefight should it have been at launch? Yeah. But but better late than never and better still with some really good innovation. I dont usually give praise to 343 but damn it they should of been a candidate for the best player support at the game awards this year not destiny 2 and im a fan of both.
You are the hope for the game. Your explanations are meaningful, precise and accurate. Halo Infinite needs love and dedication. The campaign needs a lot of work. A relaunch would work if the campaign is reworked and expanded. I hope developers reach your video and Microsoft revalue Halo Infinite. This game deserves to be great.
"So we aren't just sprawled out all over the map like that one odst firefight map" Safari. You mean safari. The map that has enemies spawn in with vehicles because you're supposed to use the vehicles to traverse the area instead of being on foot outside of the compound. Current hill capture mode certainly prevents you from being all over the map. Basically forces you to be at a single part of the map. Not much room for strategy or map exploitation. Just go where the colored box is.
I think it's a great mode. The only thing I wish would change is that you have to score 5 points in order to win, and the banished have to score two. Otherwise, you just automatically win after 3 rounds, which we normally do. Unless we all die at the same time if course
I was talking to my friend about another firefight mode called Lone Wolf or Last Stand, like in the name survive until the last spartan dies like the last mission in reach and when other players die they can leave and take their xp or bring back regular life limited firefight.
I LOVE it so much; it gives a good amount of xp, engaging, and so far I’ve yet to get bored it’s all I’ve been playing and tbf I probably will never go back to pvp besides on rare occasions
@@LateNightHalo no like an actual pve spartan chatter like actual dialogue for firefight not just the re used ones for pvp Like just imagine the spartans sayin banished bastards or elite down😆
"Thanks to forge, it's possible to make your own" (I.e., ACTUAL) "firefight." Yeah, and idk if you've tried it yet, but using the official firefight mode while also taking away King of the hill doesn't appear to work. Not sure what's going on. It's very possible i'm messing something up, but nobody in the halo discord has been able to figure it out, either. Only thing we know how to do is manually script reinforcements; default mode reinforcements don't appear to function.
definitely agree with the challenges, I wish there was Firefight specific challenges. I sat here and used my challenge rerolls trying to get a pve one and could not find one.
Downed teammates definitely needs to be more pronounced when it happens. Imagine Jeff Steitzer’s voice: “Fallen comrade!” or “Spartan down!” or even “Spartan missing in action!”
one tweak, or maybe as part of a straight survival mode, that I think would be cool would be if in Firefight, reviving a teammate gave both of you over-shield for a few seconds. especially for matchmaking where you aren't on mic with friends, it'd give extra incentive for people to be on the lookout for squadmates to revive.
ODST Firefight was my favorite and I put soooooo many hours into it.. That said, I was skeptical of KOTH firefight but god was I wrong. It's fun. Not only is it fun, it's more fun than any other firefight version I've played and the new changes 343 made actually make sense. It feels like a team experience even when I'm with randos, the overshield buff is genius, the flow and length of matches is spot on. I no longer miss old firefight, I'm here for KOTH and ofc I'll play some traditional matches from time to time, but 343 KILLED IT here.
Just IMAGINE if Halo Infinite launched as complete as it is now. Would have returned Halo to its glory days. Still can't wrap my head around the fact how the hell this happened
Have you guys had the occasional phantom to phantom fornication where they just pile on top of each other while the other is starting to fly away but can’t
Overall, I have been enjoying Firefight, but the major issues I've been having is teammates. I've been having people quit before the first hill is captured and no players or bots joining mid-game. I've also has teammates just run around the map and barley even shot an enemy, let alone try to capture the point even with no enemies on it.
That sucks man. I haven't had a single teammate quit and usually have a good team. I didn't even know they'd put bots in. What city/state are you playing in?
Indeed, it is really good, a bright spot, and I've waited for this, more after the thirsting PvE side of Halo. From my experience, as other titles, the rough issues are shown in higher difficulties. Normal is good, but in Heroic you feel those cheap shots when the Banished just appear behind you, right next to the zone. I loved as well seeing once again the Phantom (and you can shoot the enemies from inside! Not like H5!) But, not even dropships then? I've played for years Horde mode in Gears, and they had time to balance these issues, I just hope 343i can improve it with feedback like yours. And, for God's sake, CAN I HAVE A VETO SYSTEM ALREADY?!?!?! I'm sick and tired of gambling my next game...
Sorry for the Pixel-y mess.

Next to Campaign, Firefight is probably my favorite game mode! I'm glad that it's finally here and plays really well! I like playing on the Normal difficulty more then the Heroic mode so I'm not just constantly sweating against those Red Hunters 😅
Now with everything that's in Infinite, if 343 can drop the next Halo game with ALL of this content on day 1, and it will be a massive success!
"I don't think MCC mode does it justice because all it takes is one bad player to take your lives down to 0" meaning the next time you die, the game is over, even if that's your first time dying
Which is exactly what happens if a surprise wave of golden elites comes in and wipes your team only once.
Here's a tip: Shock weapons are great for crowd control. You can shoot weapons on the floor, objective markers, and weapon pads to chain lightning between enemies.
for some reason they don't seem that effective on elites. I'm playing on normal and it takes 3 direct shots from the shock rifle to kill a red elite
@@justinnyugen7015Shielded AI in general resist shock and needles soon unless you throw a dynamo, and since elites have the strongest shields in the game they will not be easily stunned
@@justinnyugen7015
Yeah, shock damage seems to suck against shields, but can still stun elites if you shoot metal objects. The enemy density is pretty crazy in firefight, so it helps a lot more than in campaign.
@@jasondahfolf4325 ah, I see. I'm so used to emp and plasma damage being the same thing. I've been using needlers on elites too lolololol
When I saw the ai hovering over my buddy I had half a mind to say "guardian down!" Lol.
Right? Lol
I think this firefight's really fun. I really enjoyed it. I had a blast and I loved it. I hope they added new types of Firefight
343 has stumbled a lot over the years, but no one can deny that what they've done with forge and custom games over the years is incredible.
Maybe a pulsing icon?
i do think the voiceline idea for downed teammates is great though
4:56 you can always check down right below your team's progress bar the 4 dots representing your teammates to check if there's somebody down, and also when someone dies there's an audio cue
This is now my favorite mode. Reminds me of the hours I spent in Reach's Firefight when I was a kid. I think I'll never play pvp again lol
Did he say...13 years? Since...since Reach? No....No.......No
Since...No
It's really nice to finally say, honestly, that Infinite has set a new high bar for an aspect of the series
Wish they announced which boss was inbound on the last wave, would increase the tension.
Needed this two years ago
Part of me still secretly misses warzone firefight. Wish they had more vehicles i firefight
so we've had spartan ops and warzone, neither of which were as popular as reach or odst firefight, but we once again fail to release firefight.
Um but there is firefight 😂
Will a video be made addressing the Timeless Gravel price hike from 400CR to 1000CR because of the cross core tax?
jesus
XD
basically Halo infinite being free to play is expensive and if they don't make enough money, then all dev work comes to a stop, and because halo infinite doesn't have a high player count I doubt if it's really making a profit at all, just look at all the free stuff we have been given, you wouldn't get anything free from other games and not only that but you can complete all old battle passes. they are a buisness, they need money and yes people didnt ask for free 2 play but without free 2 play we wouldnt get cool shit after launch. most games before f2p never changed or updated and only got new stuff when it was like a DLC Map Pack for 60$ or something which is bad because it split the community up, I remember when halo 3 had theyre mythic Mappack my friends didnt buy it so I couldnt play with them on the new maps
Bro i cant wait to get home and play this with my son and friends!
The spawns are a bit claustrophobic in King of The Hill on certain maps (Behemoth and House of Reckoning), so I hope there'll be a more classic variant where you hunker down in your main base and enemies get dropped off further, or have strongholds around main sections of your base
Otherwise, there are some improvement ideas:
- Reviving can be annoying af if the person dies in a warthog or on a pile of weapons. You'll likely swap your weapons or mount a turret by mistake and both end up dying.
- Weapons despawn too quick (but this has been a problem in classic MCC firefight as well). If i am forced to respawn on my own, all my shit is gone
- Scoreboard actually keeping track of kills. Right now its only assists, revives, deaths. Kills show up as 0
- Vallaheim map doesn't have any kinetic ammo crates
- Zanzibar remake has an out of map section you can get stuck on (the cliff by the umbrella). I got knocked in there by a gravity hammering teammate while trying to refill ammo
- BTB influence for bigger maps (pelican dropping in tanks, loot caves)
Adding enemy vehicles like wraiths, ghosts, choppers and banshees would also be nice for KoTH firefight.
I think this mode needs more actual firefight maps
I concur, some maps that are open and so have phantom spawns like Valhalla... you just get your stuff rocked because of its cannons and if there's multiple of them... well it's heavy molten metal at that point.
@@CommissarChaotic Vallaheim probably has the worst cover in the open Hill areas. Easy to get surrounded since phantoms drop right on top of you and enemies spawn in your flank routes.
Plus there's no ammo crates unllke the other maps in rotation
Even having bosses from the Campaign at the last wave of every round is awesome. I even got Escharum one time.
Rude.
Man could you imagine if the game launched with this
I Love te idea of objectives on Firefight for the sake of keeping players together, i hope they add stockpile and a Koth variant where the hill moves forward as you capture it and the victory condition is taking the hill from point A to B (yes, basically payload)
I hope so too!
The only thing I need for it to be perfect is an endless mode and some friendly marines.
My one gripe is no firefight exclusive maps yet.
And still none
i get that it’s king of the hill but i miss the dedicated firefight maps that put you in a corner with waves coming at you
I think the House of Reckoning map would be great if converted to the classic style waves. Your spawn point is a great corner
The dedicated maps where just parts of campaign levels
You are the hope for the game. Your explanations are meaningful, precise and accurate. Halo Infinite needs love and dedication. The campaign needs a lot of work. A relaunch would work if the campaign is reworked and expanded. I hope developers reach your video and Microsoft revalue Halo Infinite. This game deserves to be great.
The __________ _is Beautiful_ series is beautiful.
5:30 that screen was nostalgic
Great suggestions for firefight I love them and this video. Nice.
"So we aren't just sprawled out all over the map like that one odst firefight map"
Safari.
I was talking to my friend about another firefight mode called Lone Wolf or Last Stand, like in the name survive until the last spartan dies like the last mission in reach and when other players die they can leave and take their xp or bring back regular life limited firefight.
ooh, can't wait to try this. Looks like a good expansion to the mode from halo reach. Now I'm waiting for invasion and grifball
I LOVE it so much; it gives a good amount of xp, engaging, and so far I’ve yet to get bored it’s all I’ve been playing and tbf I probably will never go back to pvp besides on rare occasions
Heroic firefight gives so much xp. I cant imagine how much legendary firefight will give
I really hope we get more firefight modes, including ones where the banished actually have vehicles.
I wish spartan chatter was in the game
It is! Just turn it on. I personally keep it turned off
@@LateNightHalo no like an actual pve spartan chatter like actual dialogue for firefight not just the re used ones for pvp
Like just imagine the spartans sayin banished bastards or elite down😆
"Thanks to forge, it's possible to make your own" (I.e., ACTUAL) "firefight."
Yeah, and idk if you've tried it yet, but using the official firefight mode while also taking away King of the hill doesn't appear to work.
Just enjoy that it's here now, man!
No use in making hypotheticals of the past, can only move forward
nah not when the store is still trying to rob us
Have you guys had the occasional phantom to phantom fornication where they just pile on top of each other while the other is starting to fly away but can’t
4:45 they should have used a lock armor animation when your spartan is down.
firefight challenges are a good idea. i remember those back in ODST. challenges are partly needed to keep the solely-PvE players happy.
This is the best thing halo has brought back just incredible
Came back after a long break. I never finished the first battle pass and I am having such a great time!
Overall, I have been enjoying Firefight, but the major issues I've been having is teammates. I've been having people quit before the first hill is captured and no players or bots joining mid-game. I've also has teammates just run around the map and barley even shot an enemy, let alone try to capture the point even with no enemies on it.
I use the Marker aggressively when this happens lololol. "ENEMY HERE. ENEMY HERE". Or I manually type in chat "Need revive"
That sucks man. I haven't had a single teammate quit and usually have a good team. I didn't even know they'd put bots in. What city/state are you playing in?
it’s actually possible to get the infinte ammo skull in firefight which is kinda crazy
If Halo Infinite really does come to PS5 like rumors have suggested, Im gonna be addicted to this mode.
Firefight with bossa nova sounds real nice
finally, my spartan feels like they exist in a universe and not in a simulation lmao.
I wish they added the bonus round . I also wanna see the ships from original halo drop some enemies off . And ofcourse we want legendary
firefight reminds me of a custom mod for invasion
