I like the recent return to ‘old school’ Arthur. I first found your channel thanks to the your FS how to videos and it’s like bumping into an old friend when you post a new one! Different and interesting but still familiar.
If you're using Crop Destruction (mod), then you'll need the topper/defoliator on the front of the tractor, or narrow tires. Once the tops are cut off, it's not possible to destroy the crops. You can harvest potatoes in the rain! Regular farm silos don't store potatoes (or sugar beets), you can do long term storage at the train depots, so even if you're not selling at the mill, you can reload a truck and sell at the most profitable sell point, then wait for the market to recover. In fact you can use the train(s) to move the crop from one depot to another, in order to make the truck trip as short as possible. On Gold Crest I usually kept a store of potatoes or beets at the depot near the pig farm, to feed the piggies. And then there's pallets - you can make both potato and beet pallets (2000l per), which can make for more efficient storage than a pile at the side of a field somewhere. Pallets can be used to feed piggies, and resupply the potato seeder (no need for a bucket, just a nice set of pallet forks!).
19:00 onwards you mention doing 3 x trips to sell them. Why not dump the loads then use a conveyor belt and a pusher. The price will remain the same as long as the flow of potatos doesn't stop.
I thought I did, but I don't - its pretty much the same, but you don't have to worry about a special planter. You use a corn planter instead - glad you are enjoying the vids!
Arthur, the Ropa Keiler II does not need a haulm topper, it is a "direct harvest" machine. Thus, i respectfully beg to differ, the Ropa Keiler II IS a better piece of gear. HOWEVER, this is ONLY my opinion. there is a piece of gear in the game mod hub called an "Akpil Bulwa Potato Digger" what it does is dig up the whole potato plant and lay them in a neat row on the ground behind the tractor. all you need to do is come along behind with a loader and scoop them up. the digger is about 2 or 3 meters wide, so it is only really good for a really small field. it is available for PC and XB1 (sorry ps4 and nintendo peeps)
Potatoes are awesome 🥔 even through history wheat had to be supplemented with the potato, but wheat could never be…the potato. A true staple of the veggie food chain.
Mostly - the differences - Sugar beets cannot be replanted, you must buy new seed each time (but the seed is the same that you use for other crops, so its cheap) and with Sugar beets you can both cut and harvest in one pass if you have a large enough tractor.
Ah really wish I could enjoy this game it's just annoying af spent an hour trying to find out how to actually get a working shovel.. bought a front loader vehicle can't attach shovel.. bought a tractor bought a front loader attachment.. bucket won't go on it.. fkin potatoes all over the floor..can't find that little scooper truck you're using or anything on RUclips about attaching a bucket to something
So there are categories for all the items - you have Front Loader, Telehandler and Wheel Loader. Are you sure your bought the front loader bucket? it should have less than 2000 capacity - 1800 I think. If its the right bucket, you just lower the arms and you should get the "connect bucket" symbol in the bottom right.
@@kingarthursims no I'd bought a universal bucket rather stupidly named because it wasn't universal lol I figured it out tho thanks I saw it on your felsbrunn farm manger series I've been watching where you got the forks at the start. Thank you for the reply tho. I'm slowly making money harvesting potatoes and fertilizing other ppls fields. Wish I'd started watching that series before investing in potato equipment because I don't own a house to skip nights. Your series is helping a lot tho Im just copying the things I like from it as I'm on the same map and mode.
the yellow picker upper is worth it because it dont need the topper.
Oh! (Facepalm)

Nice - be sure to check out my recently published noob guides too if you like this style of video.
Here is a playlist you will most likely enjoy :) ruclips.net/p/PLHOIp7_VO931Nk9z7Ez3Jf0_FbCOyHKSN

I didn't think the standard pallet maker does potatoes - is that a mod that you are using?
Standard thing - the pallet maker takes taters and beets.
Love how his voice goes so soft and quiet, could put me to sleep lol great video tho
Just in time as I'm about to get into potatoes. Thanks!
Glad to be of service :)
Good luck. Start small.
Thanks I got farming simulater like 2-3 months ago and this video was really helpful
Glad to be of service Epic
Loved the video!!
Another excellent tutorial, thank you :)
You're very welcome!

MDS120287 you could definitely do it though it’s hard to keep that flow going even with multiplayer, but it can be done
What’s your twitch channel?
I love this game and I love your videos, thanks so much for making this game so much easier to understand. Do you have a video on sugar beets?

Yes - on the Ropa - see the pinned comment ;)
The big harvester is awsome but it fills up really fast so doing big field is horrible lol

maybe I am wrong, but I think Potatoes are actually better for your body than wheat, from a processing standpoint.
@@kingarthursims I think that is true as well, from what all I can recall. Even more points for the potato lol.
Do we own all the fields or do we have to buy them from other farmers ?
They have to be purchased.
Consoles have a Mods tab
Can u make a vid on how to plant Soybeans cuz I just got fs17 also I love ur vids
Have you watched my noobs guide? should be covered in there - let me know!
Can you get mods for potatoes ?
Great tutorial! Does all of this apply to sugar beets too?

how to fefill with that pallet, which button ? bro
Left Joystick click
Do you need to cultivate/ plow before doing potatoes
Yes - plow every 3rd time, cultivate every time.
Love it
the train only holds 300000 liters not 400000
Depends on the train and the map - is that 300000 for the train itself, or the warehouse?
the train on the map where you playing is 300000 the first is 120 and the 2 others are 90
I don’t have a Nintendo switch light yet👎🙀😿😿😿😿😿😿
First :)
I have $31.388.653
