OH MY GOD i know that silent hill games are very old but i've recently started playing them with the second one and GOSHHH what a masterpiece it is.
I LOVED everything about it the whole complexity the psychology the angst the meanings the story just EVERYTHING!!! But i'm not here to say what silent hill is and especially SH2 most of you might know more than me but i'm so excited to continue with the series now i'm in the third one and it's soooo gooooood.
Anyway when i first started the game i was sure that i have to use this song it fits PERFECTLY for James and Mary/Maria it discribes their whole reletionship how they love but also how a part of them hates each other!PERFECT haha i'm not so satisfied with the result but in general i'm happy with it.PEOPLE WE NEED MORE SH VIDS OK!?XD

Konami knows how to lead other people very well. Team Silent made the first Silent Hill games. Kojima and Co. made the Metal Gear Solid games. I think they are leading Bloober in the right direction, plus Bloober Team are massive fans of the franchise anyway so it's a win-win. If all goes well, we might see one of the best Survival-Horror remakes of all time.

OMG I LOVE THIS, I'm so happy you have edited them too, this game deserves more edits! The song is perfect for them and you captured their relationship so well. Also I like the fact that you added Mary's lines from the hallway scene: that part is so moving that it always makes me cry. So beautiful!

Yes ahhhhhh these two they kill me and especially the hallway conversation was one of my favourite parts of the entire game i had to use it somehow my soul needed it had destroyed me XD
I'm so glad that you liked how i did with the voiceovers honestly SH2 has so great voicovers and conversations i had to at least use some of them.
Let's be real old games are the best sometimes they are much better than some new games a mastepiece it's always a masterpice no matter how many years will pass!

Oh my fucking god. This is phenomenal. I played this game so many times. Ugh those feels. I didn't expect to cry today. When Mary Asks James not to go 😢😢😢 I kind of want to do a scene of James remembering a moment from them in, "their special place" SH hotel, only to turn out he was huffing hyper spray in his car before he drove off the side of a bridge

WOOOOW, it looks so so good dear !! I never played to Silent Hill though I heard a LOT about it and it seems really really great and now that I have watched that video, it interest even more ? Perphaps you can talk about it to me more in private ? (sorry about that by the way, these last weeks were kinda hard for me, but I'm coming back soon to answer to your messages, I promise!) :D and oh god who cares that it's old games, often old games are the best (I'm watching you, Code Veronica), and god really the character of Mary/Maria seems so fascinating as a character and her relationship with James, from what I can see in this video, seems so complex and deep, especially that I'm VERY WEAK for relationships who kinda each other as much as they love each other, love/hate relationships are the best for me :D anyway this video is so so good dear, I'm so in love in it, the mood of the song seems to fits them so well, the editing is PERFECT, like always, the masking at 0:37, the twixtor effects, the texts, the VHS effects (always!!), it looks so GORGEOUS dear!!

A mistake that is often made about Maria and her origin, is that the town completely fabricated her to punish James with a sultry sexy version of his wife.
While the reason for her existence in the town is obvious (as a means to punish James) her origin i think is a thing that confuses people. People often think that Maria is an entirely made up and fabricated entity. I think this is erroneous.
I think Maria is actually the memory of a real person that just happens to bare a striking resemblence to Mary.
My interpretation was that Maria was *ACTUALLY* James's stripper side peice while Mary was dying in the hospital. I dont think its an accident that there's a shady, sleezy, motel next to the Brookhaven hospital, and just down the street was the strip club "heavens night". James went to the strip joint down the street to alleviate his "frustrations" and while he was there he met Maria. Seeing that she looked like she could be Mary's twin, James immediately took a lustful liking to her.
James, in his frustration, took Maria back to the previously mentioned motel (I think its called Jack's inn). Probably multiple times. He might have even maintained a relationship with Maria for a time. Seeing her after visiting Mary in the hospital. He finally got fed up with watching Mary suffer, dealing with the emotional and financial burden, and decided to smother her (perhaps even at the insistence of Maria)
Out of his guilt, Jame's omitted the existence of Maria from his memory and the time he spent with her, fabricated a fictional timeline in which Mary died 3 years previous to the game, and then out of a desire to punish himself for his sins, imagines Mary's letter calling him to silent hill where the town then fabricates a likeness of Maria to torment him with. Basing Maria off of James's repressed memories of the real Maria.
If you look at some of things Maria says to James she gets very irritated with James if he mentions that he needs to find his wife.
"All you care about is that dead wife of yours"
"Stay with me. Don't leave me alone. You promised you'd take care of me"
The final boss (which can be Maria depending on which ending you get) even says "i can be yours, ill never yell at you or hurt you" which is exactly what Mary did to James. probably on multiple occasions.
The best thing about this game though is there are tons of different interpretations and they are mostly all valid, because of the ambiguity inherent in the game.
This is a good video game.

This actually made me cry. Silent Hill means so much to me and the second installment Is just pure gold. This edit perfectly captures the grief and complicated feelings James goes through and I absolutely love it, well done! 💚

0:18 - 0:25 - A great video cut. It's good that you included Angela in the video. Her story is so sad, and some of her scenes are so artistically well staged.
0:48 - 0:58 - "Jaaaames... wait... please don't go" Her sad look at 0:49/0:50 and how he carries her body away at 0:52/0:53 😭😭 This part of your video touches my heart the most. This video editing is simply brilliant! 0:54 - 0:57 - His forgetting, his inner division. The symbolism of this scene is reinforced even more intensively by the video editing with the music.
1:25 - 1:36 - "Mary is dead, you killed her" and "Now i understand the real reason i came to this town" - Together with the music and the video editing, an intensive conclusion to the video. That gets under my skin.
The video is truly a masterpiece, but I think these scenes are the best!
