Valve seals would not effect an engine like that. If anything, the extra oil would RAISE compression. Think WET compression test. When doing a compression check we were taught to do a dry test, then a WET test . There should be a difference because the oil actually raises compression.

PCV valve? If it has good compression I would replace the pcv valve(I think it’s located front lower part of engine, left side) and see what that does. Cheap part. Can cause oil consumption. After that cylinder leak down test.
hey Ivan i would put a transducer on the dipstick on 1 scope channel rel compression on the other channel look for anomalies that corraborate piston rings on the one smoker cylinder great video get some fresh air man
Hey Colin! You mean oil burning leads to blue smoke ;) Never seen such a smoke screen....maybe they forgot the valve seals or oil control rings during the rebuild hahaha
@@PineHollowAutoDiagnostics I have seen a few engines do that, but it usually leads to oil rings gap too wide. I think the gap to be .010, but the gap on this I think is .018 to .025.
They last longer provided good maintenance and easy driving. Why? Less parts that can break or wear. And they get up temperature faster. Less mass and fluids to heat up.
I am not going to pretend I know what I'm talking about because I don't but I figured I'd share my speculations. When the engine has blow by you will clearly see smoke come up thru the oil cap when removed on a running engine. Something isn't adding up here. The smoke almost looks like diesel fuel (presumably from mis-fueling). If I had smell-o-vision I would be able to tell you right away if it's diesel I have worked on a 6.0 engine with diesel smoke and know the smell by heart.
Ivan: I hope the EP3.1 indicates you have a follow up on this because this diagnosis isn't up to your usual standards. Starting the car, looking at fuel trims and remarking at all the smoke (several times) doesn't cut it. Get on with some basic diagnosis for where the oil could be coming from. Sorry for being critical. I was hoping for more.
You are more than likely correct. But a leak down test would have been good to see just for the sake of a more complete diagnosis. But considering where it was buried in the lot (access to a compressor) maybe not possible? I'm just saying something seemed to be lacking from this video as far as your usual pretty definitive (check / double check) sort of diagnosis'. No problem.
