    With the price of houses and availability on Shetland my only hope would be to live in a van.

    I wish a more honest view of Shetland was promoted.
    What you see in this video is the small window of days in the year where it *can* look like this.
    The truth is 70% of the year is cold, dark, wet and windy, 10% is okay and then 20% is what you see here.
    A lot of people are being wooed here but the same amount are leaving.

      Having just moved to Shetland, I would agree with what you say. This is definitely not a true representation from what I have seen so far.

      @@talex1625 I've been told that a lot of people are loosing a lot of money because they'll sell their house, for example, in England for a healthy price then out-bid the local people only to discover the harsh reality of life here is too much for them and they end up selling their house at a loss so they can move back south.
