The Island tour vid is great! Since visiting the Island years ago arriving as a guest and as y'all mentioned leaving as a friend was a great experience. The addition of the beautiful bungalows is such a bonus treat! I would love to make it back someday but if not soon, hopefully my friends can come out and share their experiences, as I have with them : ) Thank you for my unforgettable surf holiday by sharing your dreams & passion. Mentawai Islands look absolutely beautiful with near perfect coral beaches (although reportedly the coral reefs here alas have been mostly destroyed, if anyone notices) and luxuriant coconut groves. However, I am not crazy about resort development which, when unchecked, has destroyed the beauty of many a location in tropical location just like this (and already quite a few in Indonesia and other parts of Southeastern Asia). The more publicity these islands receive (as a "paradise") the more likely it will be they meet the same fate of other "hot spots." I hope they don't. It would be nice of they didn't get paved over and turned into another crowded parking lot.
