Using two of the small airports is truly better than using the internatinal airports. They both have the same extremely short runways, but the big airport is very ugly with that square perimeter and “futuristic” look. Truly a much better option. Although i’d rather have built in airport dlc
One of the best C:S airports I've ever seen! Great design, great consideration of transit and traffic, and you even mocked in an ILS approach! Also, this was a masterful example of respecting the topography, CPP should be proud
This is really deep in the weeds, but I think the radio mast (despite being a little too big) is a good asset for the UHF glide slope transmitter, which is missing from this particular setup.
In reality, some airports are built on natural islands such as YVR Int'l Airport in Richmond, BC, south of Vancouver, built on Sea Island where the Fraser River meets its mouths. In this video, it's a good thing you modified that natural island before building an airport on it.
I forgot to mention another airport built on a natural island which is also in Canada. In the Toronto Islands on Lake Ontario, you'll see one regional airport known as Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) on Centre Island.
I'm glad I'm not the only one kind of disenamored by the in-built international airport, haha Such a strange shape and so much random grass that you can't detail This one you made looks so wonderful.
I'm loving your CS2 builds so far. I think all the effort you have put into CS1 mod free builds really shows now the rest of the community are having to do the same thing for CS2. Can't wait to see what you can do once you can access all the fences and props they will hopefully add.
It's hard to complain because we got DLCs from CS1 built into CS2, but we don't have the same level of freedom with the assets and creating these areas in CS2 like we did in CS1.
As long as the glide slope is clear of terrain obstacles (including catinery lines) there is no problem with that. The touchdown zone of the runway is where the two massive white boxes are painted on the runway, not at the beginning of the asphalt stip. There are, in fact, quite a lot of airports that have highways on a berm at the approach end(s) of runway(s) because they are an excellent double-use as intermodal transit connectors and noise barriers to the neighboring districts, and that's not a problem at all. I don't know a big international airport with rail that close off the top of my head, but I don't see why it would be a problem. What's more unrealistic (but probably not really curable with the current state of the game) is that the two terminals are completely seperated. There is not a single taxiway allowing planes to go from one side to the other.
@@Nikx-youtube Also a possibility, yes. But you can only place noisy industry or warehouses there as neither residential nor offices nor commercial will work there. Most airports use a combination of berms, buildings and natural obstacles (mostly woods) depending on their geography - so e.g. Maynard H. Jackson Jr. Intl. Airport in Atlanta has highways on three sides and a big cargo hub on one side - while Denver Intl. Airport is in the middle of b*tt f*ck nowhere. Ofcourse there are exceptions to the rule, like LAX or London City where the airport is in a most inopprtune position for historical reasons, but in those they usually mess with the flight path as best they can to minimize low-flying over residential areas.
I feel bridges are more practical than extending land for connecting islands. I hope they add different types of bridges and bridges dedicated to support water ways
The national aviation authority might have opinions about the road/rail ridge beyond the end of the runway and require those transit routes be sent below ground level and be covered.
Great location, I loved it! Only problem is parking spots are waaay too far away. Generaly, the parking spots are closer, in fact, most of them are underground in front of the airport, or just infront of the airport so people can have a more easy access specially carrying so much luggage
a free busline is regular used to transfer between parkinglots and the terminals and back. Could be made on this map too. Taxistand is missing and so are warehouses to put in cargo, waiting for a flight or to star what just came in. And so on and so on. But still a good build.
As someone whose working in the aviation sector, the airports in CS make me angry lol. That's not at all how they work, and I'd love to see them updated sometime. Right now you can basically put an airport wherever you want, without any real consequences. Airports are quite important to those cities that have one, and they literally shape the way the city looks and works and in a way. I never understood how they glossed over that even in the Airports DLC.
Super cooler Bau! ^^
Very nicely done. I have been playing around since release and i do miss some of the CS1 mods. Also some assets like the base passenger station is way to big for the smaller towns. It bums me out that there are no other smaller assets in the base game...
Seeing how CSL2 looked like, I wonder why didn't CO included features from past CSL DLCs into the base game. I like to build my own airports using the Airports DLC in my cities.
Absolutely amazing all the way around! I do have one question though, how realistic would it be to have a solar farm by the runways? Wouldn't that risk blinding pilots? I love the approach lighting system, gonna use that for sure on mine!
Open the tree tool, change the tool mode to multi and then there's an option on the left for snapping. Change that so that you can remove all types of trees instead of the one you have selected.
it's very beautiful, but I'm confused by the solar panels through the fence from the airport, they won't shine into the cockpit and create emergency situations?

The international airport is too ugly to place in my city yes
I want a dlc to build and design your own airport - amount of gates size etc
@@Quadgaming-l7t can I download DLC’s in the game?

Looks like we are back to improvising our airports again like CS1 until mods or some sort of Airport themed DLC releases 😅
It's hard to complain because we got DLCs from CS1 built into CS2, but we don't have the same level of freedom with the assets and creating these areas in CS2 like we did in CS1.
raised railway right next to airport runway? isnt that a bit sus

The pilots just have to gitgud
Its much more efficient to place buildings next to it

I imagine there is an underground subway connecting the terminals
I love your blinding trap made of sun pannels xDD
It's impossible that we are playing the same game, fantastic.
I miss your commentary but I'm just happy when you upload something. This build was amazing!
It crazy how the game didnt even age a month but someone still manage to make the city look like the game come out years ago
need this playlist for my builds lol
also this is the most relistic one ive seen so far in CS2. Great job!
They need to bring back the Airports DLC for Cities Skylines II
My god thats looking good!!
It feels like a lost opportunity without commercial uses around xd
Yeah but where?
@@imperatur where all the surface parking was 👀
The best city so far in cs2 ❤

Yeah there’s definitely a lack of bridge options..
Amazing work, only thing i'd say is unrealistic elevated roads in front of landing track
Looks amazing but man a solar farm right next to it ? xD Pilots gonna hate landing there
Ohh its blinding them you mean?
The music and this game 🥺♥️ perfect combination ♥️
The national aviation authority might have opinions about the road/rail ridge beyond the end of the runway and require those transit routes be sent below ground level and be covered.
I really hope they add a DLC to CS2 like the Airport DLC in CS1 (I really don't like pre-built airports)
So relatable
Oh my goodness! This airport looks like a miniature Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, (I don't know if you're familiar with that,) i love it!
he takes a lot off inspiration from US citys - see the last CS1 city
navigating through those interchanges would be a nightmare lol

The airports look horribly unrealistic in CS2 (apart from the terminal building which is nice), but you definitely made the most of it! Nice job!! 👏

is that airport possible to create in the Basic (vanilla) version of the game? Without any mods or paid expansions?

Hey:D greetings to india:)
Ah the 'ol CS tradition of ignoring the actual Intl Airport in favor of slapping 2 basic airports back to back. Always a great lifehack lol.
Bro the international airport is beyond ugly
@@imperatur I agree lol, it's why I called it a lifehack.
Congrats, you have the best cities painting videos on youtube ! what about simulation ? how you are managing traffic?
As you can see the city makes money and traffic is never an issue in my cities somehow
Imperatur can you do a cloverleaf from Highway to street please?
Yes, some more interchanges will follow in the future:)
Thank you
im jawdropped
how to remove trees in bulk in this game?
is the L.A. themed project in cs1 going to be continued?
es una obra de arte 😍❤
This isn't an international airport though, it's just two regional airports duck taped together...

negative cash flow symbol yet you kept making money? how? is the economy of the game really FAKE?
You get money from exports and stuff but it doesn’t use that when calculating if the arrow should be red or green, idk why. That’s why money goes up
Idk its weird but you can’t really loose money in the game
yeah the economy is shit.
CS1 is better
This looks worse than the airports dlc
first
Yes🫶🏻
that is not internetional airport, thx for wasting my time
Knowing the current state of the game no one will want to work or go to the airport because it's too far from residential zones
the runway is to short
sadly it will take at least half a year for something better
